just wish politicos would say that grey is grey not black with white in it OR white with black in it. If you watch daily politics occasionally they get asked direct questions and they just deflect etc, then they "sympathize" when they are told that the reason we have such a low opinion of them is because they just don't aanswer the feckin ? asked directly.

Do you think distorting peoples names will help normal people here take you seriously or perceive you as childish immature trolls ?

What is the point ?
The point is it appeals to their inner keyboard warrior, having said that, I do regress that I my self use the terms Camoron and Gideot when describing the less than dynamic duo. hehe
I have met George Osbourne recently and I have to say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised. He comes over far better face to face than he does on the television. He is warm, personable, and clearly very intelligent. I did warm to him

I also met Ed Balls a few years ago in Leeds. A more smug, "full of himself" arrogant individual is hard to imagine.

Well if we're looking for hard facts on the Labour Party, how about 'the last 3 Labour governments have left the economy in a far worse position than when they started'.

Any better?

When you talk to them face to face you find that may of them would dearly LOVE to "tell it like it is". The problem with doing that is threefold:

1. Their opponents take advantage of that honesty and tell bigger lies so as to get elected instead
2. The media are so dumbed down and biased these days that there is frequently a major disconnect between what the politicians say and how that actually gets reported
3. Sadly the general public (or at least a large chunk of them) simply can't handle the truth. They WANT to believe that the bankers bonus tax will pay for everything... They WANT to believe that the NHS is staffed by Angels and that the only reason it is failing is because the nasty Tories are breaking it etc etc etc. They WANT to believe the palpable nonsense that the politicians tell them, because in that way they don't actually have to take responsibility for what happens next! "They lied to me!" is much easier to shout out when things get tough than "actually, they told me this would happen and I voted for it" In short, a Politicians that tells the public the truth is going to be on the dole pronto.

I wish it were not so, but until the public decides to ACTUALLY challenge and make sense of what they are being told, then the system will not change.

The best example is the recent Scottish Referendum. If you spoke to a significant percentage of the 45% of those that voted Yes you would find (I think) the same themes running, namely a fervent believe in the following:

1. They would get the pound, despite what rUK said
2. They would keep ship building for the RN, despite centuries of precedent and despite what the rUK said
3. They would still be in the EU, despite what the EU said in writing!
4, They pay in far more than they get out, despite what the figures showed
5. Oil would always be $115+ per barrel
6. They would keep all the oil, despite UN protocols in this respect
7. They could walk away from all the debt

Luckily the majority saw sense, but when politics merges with religious style belief in the nonsensical, in the face of all evidence then the truth is of little use or benefit. This means that, in effect, we actually get the politicians we deserve.
