All these deposit boxes, would they have opened them while they were there or taken them away?
According to reports, it looks as though all or most were opened at the scene and discarded along with the equipment used to gain entry to the vault.

DCI Johnson described what officers found: “The scene is chaotic. The vault is covered in dust and debris and the floor is strewn with discarded safety deposit boxes and numerous power tools, including an angle grinder, concrete drills and crowbars.”

Thanks.

Saying on the news earlier the thieves may have hidden in an office block in the same building and waited for everyone to leave.

4 men armed with various building tools gaining access to an office or roof in central london, having to get from somewhere to the office via streets littered with CCTV while carrying massive fking drills or whatever you need to get through a reinforced concrete wall.

then they leave either the office or the roof or the building they just broke the hell into carrying an estimated £200 million worth of jewels/watches/guns/muslamic ray guns and possibly classic 70's porn and have to get from that building to some form of transport and they are no where to be seen, no mention of CCTV or witnesses who've witnessed men carrying £200 million pounds worth of 70's 80's and early 90's copies of razzle.

However. If my front near side wheel hits a fking bus lane, they know exactly who I am.

And all they wanted were some dodgy snaps of Princess Margaret shagging John Bindon.
I just Googled him. Blimey!
Part of Led Zeppelin's backstage security staff, a grade A psycho, with a penchant for performing a trick with six pint pots, which apparently amused Princess Margaret....laugh

Surely all the plod need to do is keep an eye out for a coach balanced precariously over a deep gorge, if there's a bloke inside telling his mates not to worry and he has a plan then Bingo! Bang to rights...

Great to know that I am not the only one. This sounds like a burglary not a robbery to me smile

In these days of CCTV everywhere and current security systems is it possible that there was maybe 1 particular item that needed to be liberated from that vault?. The police must know which boxes have been opened why are they not telling the depositors?

If you had a video/documents implicating politicians or high ranking government officials in pedophile activity. Where could one keep such videos/documents?

Roster probably says someone called Dave this week, based in Northampton and can go fix it it by Tuesday in two weeks time (by then it will be Phil but he does not work Tuesdays). Be there 9 or 11 in the morning.

I'd keep it away from that Jason Statham, that's for sure.

I suspect there’s a big chaotic pile of boxes, some open and some not, all covered in a mess of concrete dust and slurry. They probably want to take the time to make sure they’re announcing the right boxes are open. I’d bet the priority is also finding any kind of trace evidence they can rather than an audit.

Talking of video evidence; it would seem that the 'crims must have gained access to the second floor before closing time. Therefore, there must be evidence of such captured on surrounding cameras.

They should get Noel Edmunds to make the announcement, He has the most experience in this kind of thing

Are you confusing planned maintenance with reactive call-out? I know it's difficult, but there is a difference.
