Is it just me thinking "well done guys" what a heist.
no, me tooObviously they're criminals who should be caught if locked up, but their motivations are predictable, and they seem professional. You can't credibly go into a valuables storage business without realising that someone is going to try and remove the valuables you're storing. In short, we willingly pay a business specifically to be responsible for stopping this. Maybe not an economically optimal arrangement, but a stable one. Maybe the business whose job it is to keep things safe will do a better job in future.
I have far more of a problem with the sort of dickweed who drives onto a live racetrack because YOLO. That sort of thing puts an almost impossible burden on businesses and individuals alike.

I imagine a lot of the stuff in the boxes may be of dubious origin anyway.
At least nobody got hurt, it affects the owners of the boxes but I suspect none of them are going to starve due to this.

Professional job no amateurs here.Lots of drilling the right gear and the right place. Some inside information I should think. There must have been plenty of noise with the drill bits.
Those drills are real heavy too. Must have been plenty of smoke? Even plaster dust sets off smoke detectors...Vaud said:
Surely this is crying out for it's first review?

If I were childish and not old and sensible I would add, "Love the new open plan basement"

Sligthly OT but it reminds me of the Knightsbridge job, Valerio Viccei was a bit of a hero to the 15yo me at the time (from the perspective of driving a Testarossa/being a playboy/shagging loads of fit skirt, as opposed to being a thieving barsteward). He went out in a blaze of glory, eventually.

Back on topic, seems there would need to be a lot of inside info to pull off a job like this. Am amazed that the CCTV was so amateur, I had a more secure set-up at my last place looking to capture local scrotes keying my M3!

Looking for pointers. How do I unload diamonds?
There's a guy down Dagenham way, owns a scrapyard. Speak to him, he knows the score. Just watch out you don't end up getting your nut blown off and buried under the scrap. On a serious note, the Met are now investigating as to why the call about the intruder alarm was ignored.
Latest from the Met...
Alarm co. reported the alarm to them at past midnight Friday,
Police 'graded' the call such that no further action was taken.
How does that happen? alarm goes off at the biggest diamond repository in the country, and they don't even send anybody to take a look?

Standard now reporting that as well as the security guard that was called out and couldn't be arsed to go further than the front door ("not paid enough mate") it turns out the police were also called in the early hours of Friday, and they couldn't be arsed to check it out properly either.

Seems to me like the thieves had a lot of luck on their side as well as the inside knowledge to know what drills to bring.
Even now, the Daily Mail is saying the owner/manager can't be arsed to come back from his holiday/trip or contact any of the customers.
