Robbery in London - 300 deposit boxes
Discussion
Im surprised, for some reason i was thinking it would be an international gang, fly in, do the robbery, fly out again.
Be interesting to find out what happens if they find some of the loot, will the box owners get things back, suppose this would only happen if they have declared the goods stolen, so what happens to all the other goods that the police manage to find, if none of the box owners come forward to lay claim than what do the police do? What are the chances of them auctioning some of the stolen property off, actually do the police even do that, is that allowed?

200 officers!!?
Haven't they got better things to do?
Shouldn't they be out catching real criminals instead?

Absolutely, theft/burglary is most definitely a real crime and devastates lives.
My parents were burgled for the first time ever about a year ago and the effect it has had on them is dreadful. They live in a large property in open countryside and my mother is now still afraid to sleep in their main bedroom (where the robbers gained access to via French-doors), and 12 months on they are still sleeping in another bedroom. Thankfully they were away on the weekned they were burgled. The burglars gained access to the rooms they wanted by breaking glass out of its frames from the outside, thus avoiding the alarm sensors on doors, hallways and certain rooms.
My dad was been asking me about getting a shotgun so he can 'shoot them if they come back'.
It really was awful.
With the connection to Brian Reader and Brinks Mat, I wonder if they were looking to get hold of some of the gold from that robbery. They used a jeweller from Hatton garden (Solly Nahome) to move on a lot of their smelted gold, he was murdered in 1998 though, but I'm sure there were many others. Lots of the people who moved on the gold from Brinks mat were murdered or in jail. Maybe Brian has an idea of where some of it was left and wanted to get it back whilst Noye is locked up. Well it would give the film a good twist anyway.

Someone who has been in the house before then and knew their movements.

I think it's interesting about the boxes that were broken into.It was either extremely random, in which case why not just go along row by row, or they had a good idea which boxes to steal.

Charged with "Conspiracy to burgle", so that means they are the suspected of being at the scene and committing the robbery itself, not just handling stuff afterwards, is that right?kev1974 said:

Wouldn't be surprised if they owned some of the boxes themselves!
I actually thought about that too, they must have a box at the minimum to have been in and had a look, probably one untouched for quite some time. Also thought it would have been a cunning plan to have rented a few boxes, and stashed their loot in the other boxes, waited a year or two and picked it up.
Mind you, with some of these guys well into their bus pass years they probably didn't want to wait to start spending!
