Thanks for sharing, good find.

If that is still the door, then how the flip did they get through it?

They've just showed that same video on ITV news!

As to how they got in? Well, i've watched a lot of Storage Wars and in that they just usually drill the safe in a specific place and then tap it with a hammer biggrin

Was the wall not between the door and the elevator shaft? Media is saying they got through the vault door?

Yes sorry I deleted that post. Story I read said back wall. Seems they still had to go through the door.

I wonder if some of the methods employed in that earlier article were used in this instance? The hidden camera to get the combination, etc.

So, will you still be congratulating them when your insurance premiums rise ? The real world isn't a 60s "caper" film, these are proper criminals who were presumably armed and ready to injure or kill so they could complete their theft.

Without condoning I can sort of admire the balls something like this took. I just can't imagine going up on that roof knowing you were about to do a job like that wondering if an alrm would go off and get caught.

But you are correct I assume if spotted there would have been violence I imagine, however it's still a step above attacking and beating up old people for 20 quid.

The preparation and organisation of this is also Impressive. Training for abseiling, did they practice on a safe door of the same type? Who planed entry and exit. How did they know they could get throuh the wall, down the shaft and more importantly back up.

Why would premiums be going up after a quantity of uninsured things get stolen?

Not many lift machine rooms with personnel access to the lift shaft, but perhaps this was the exception. I wonder where the regular lift maintenance mechanic for this particular lift is at the moment.

Regular? wink

Roster probably says someone called Dave this week, based in Northampton and can go fix it it by Tuesday in two weeks time (by then it will be Phil but he does not work Tuesdays). Be there 9 or 11 in the morning.

Not saying I could have done any better however it's not that great a heist as the alarm went off.

They succeeded purely on the basis of the security guard being a lazy bugger - nothing else.
