No.

But you obviously have a problem UNDERSTANDING.
I think you're the one who is struggling with comprehension in this instance, do you understand what 'average' means? laugh

On the subject of this story, I note she says what she suffered was 'akin to racism'. Whilst it must be unpleasant to suffer unwanted wolf whistling, I can't help bit feel this comparison somewhat trivialises the suffering of those who have been a victim of racism.

Are those fake boobs? I can't imagine any wall flower getting a boob job as they do draw attention somewhat, which I rather believe is the idea. To then complain about the attention?

If her name is 'Poppy Smart'... why does she go by the name 'Poppy Vane'?

I mean WTFF ! She ought to be ridiculed by the press, not supported. Along with the police individual who decided to launch this investigation.

Attention-seeking, man-hating, muti-tatted, pumped-up joke of a deliberate social experiment designed to further subjugate the modern white male.

She could have crossed the street ?

Just noticed the tattoo on the boob.

I guess she just wants to be famous and be on "Celebrity something...something"

the whistle is after she has gone past, maybe the builders are whistling each other as they admire their builders cracks.

That used to go on a lot, when I was on sites.....banter isn't it ? Good natured banter. There was Fat Pat the Ginger tt, Jason 'Cock End'erson, Fatprick O'Malley

Suppose.... she was passed in the street by Beckham/Gandy/Bloke from Poldark, and any of them had given her a little whistle or 'Morning love'....would she feel so 'violated'.

What was the content of the "disrespectful comments" over the month period? I see these only get a passing mention as it's much better to frame the story as "police investigate wolf-whistle".

I'm wondering what non-existent "sexual harassment" law they are talking about. Great accuracy.

If Poppy had a brain she would have used the standard response, which is to get your norks out, give them a giggle, and say 'you wouldn't know what to do with them'.

I guess it's a matter of where the line is drawn, it may not be abusive, but I would say this is close to harassment if it has been going on over time. In this day and age should women really be expected to laugh off this sort of unwanted attention?

I don't condone involving the police and I could be persuaded that there's an element of publicity seeking here, but the issue does raise a more serious question and as this place is largely populated by 'blokes', is the concensus that this sort of behaviour is ok?

Its no surprise to me that the police investigated this "incident", as we do live in the "progressive" age where we're not allowed to say, think or do anything that could possibly be construed as offensive in the most infinitesimal way. (Unless of course its a straight white male directing it at another straight white male)

If these builders were regularly getting in her way and causing a physical hassle then I can see why its such an issue, but the realist in me is just wishing she'd just ignore it like most people would have. I would assume she's one of these women that jump on the tiniest thing that could be seen as a feminist cause and play on it. The cynic in me however just thinks that if those builders had been handsome, well built oiled men toiling in the dirt then she would have had no issue here whatsoever.

On the other hand though I don't think us men can possibly imagine what it would be like to be wolf whistled or objectified in such a way, as it just doesn't happen to us in the street. I suppose the closest we could come would be a hen party where we were the hunky stripper being mobbed by the baying crowd. Also, this is 2015 and we shouldn't really have to be living with this throwback attitude by builders - yes it is the 'classic' thing they do, but times have changed.

I don't think it's OK but I don't think the Police should be involved - problem is I don't know who should.

I always take the view of would I be happy if it was my wife/daughter/sister/mother on the receiving end of such 'banter', would I be happy? No.

Whilst the BiB are staggeringly under-resourced and really don't need to be spending their time on this, who else does a young girl go to?
Their boss will tell her to fk off. Their boss could be equeally as much involved!

It's the thin end of the wedge. If nobody takes a stand then idiots like these will soon be getting their todger out to flash your 10yo daughter in public, "because it's just banter, she loved it"rolleyes

As i posted on the other thread. How is the police investigating this any different to them investigating any other type of anti social behavior. What they look into does not always have to be illegal, it can just be not in the best interests of society and where a quiet word is all that is needed, they spend all day doing such things and its exactly what we ask them for when we call on our politicians for more visible policing and bobbies on the beat. Its not like a couple of beat bobbies popping around to the building firm and having a quick look at the CCTV from 8:45 that morning is equivalent to operation yewtree.

I dont agree with this, there's no entitlement from men if women who go near them are somehow asking for it. They might just want to dress/behave like that for them, for someone they're meeting, there's no need for anyone to get involved in what someone else is doing

I also doubt that the same group of blokes would wolf whistle a bloke. So it's sexist. and I think in the absence of a group or organisation that can help put a stop to it, going to the police is probably the right course of action
