HAhahaha, you can already imagine the uproar if the edited image was their actual advertising campaign rather than the one they have now

Yes she said it on the radio. I'm somewhat uncomfortable with my singing skills (I'm tone deaf) for that reason I don't chose to get up in a room full of people and sing to them... Anyone claiming to be insecure about an aspect of themselves whilst choosing to earn their money by doing the same thing is talking rubbish!
You mean like Robin Williams or Amy Winehouse or Kurt Kobain or...?

Isn't telling women what they are and aren't supposed to be actually the antithesis of feminism.

Surely it's the woman's choice.

Nothing to do with sexism, though the feminists have hijacked it.

It's this very strange idea that it's 'ok' to be fat and it's in the same category as racism to be be 'fattist'.
This

I am tired of women proclaiming we should accept fat women as sexy.

I fully understand there is a range of desirable female body sizes and do not expect air brushed perfection. Depending on height this might range from UK dress size 6-12 (and higher for many men). This does not mean that we have to accept fat women as beautiful and saying so is just sending the wrong message to young girls.

I think its actually worse than that - they're protesting and complaining because they want their obesity to be considered normal by the majority of the population. It's liberalism and PC gone too far - where everything should be accepted for what it is, whatever it is.

I'm an overweight rotund late 20-something working in IT. I don't feel particularly self-conscious about it or the chiseled blokes on the underwear i buy as already mentioned, and i don't for a second think i should be considered normal or indeed encouraged to do anything other than loose a bit of weight.

The slightly bit of discomfort or shame i may occasionally feel should damn-well be encouraged to make me lose weight - not the complete opposite!
Quite so, obesity should not be accepted as acceptance is a form of implicit encouragement. People should be ashamed and inconvenienced by it, perhaps then they would do something about it and better themselves. They would benefit personally and the country would benefit as a whole.

Indeed. I'm sure I'll be labelled as a member of the misogynistic fascist patriarchy for saying it but no matter how much the PC brigade tell me I should fancy fat women they just don't give me liftoff.

Its basically the obese making excuses for the way they are , which in the vast majority of cases is entirely their own fault.

I'm struggling with these protesters' perspective.

They keep waffling on about their latest buzzwords, 'body shaming'. Surely that only works if you are ashamed of your body? If that's the case then surely they should be grateful about being reminded to put down the cake and do something about it?
No, you're not getting it.

What they're saying is why do you feel you have to pass judgement on what's acceptable of them. As in, if they fall somehow short of your epectation then the world's fked and they're st. Because that's what yo're telling them to act like

Why did Robin Williams go around saying he was an awful actor? Did Amy Winehouse or Kurt Kobain think they were terrible musicians?

Dont confuse depression with feeling awful about the one thing you do and are good at. I've had a bit of depression - not too bad. But I didn't think I was terrible at what I did... I just was struggling in other areas of my life.

Katie Hopkins does make me chuckle at times :

"Meanwhile, Katie Hopkins came to Protein World's defence, tweeting: 'Chubsters, quit vandalising Protein World ads and get your arse running on the road. Feminism isn’t an excuse for being fat. Eat less, move more.'"

Quoted from the Wail, thing is though, she's bang on. The Wail also quotes some of Protein World's ripostes on media, very robust laugh

They say "There's no such thing as bad publicity" or similar. I'd never heard of Protein World until this advert complaint!

To be fair I don't think his problems are down to bad publicity.

Doing some business stand-up - e.g. a presentation with a largely female audience - same thing happens. It's normal, albeit hypocritical in expecting men not to check out a woman's performance indicators in the same way.

Yep, it's more down to prepubescency*.
