Since when did being PM have to be about youth?
Blair.
It does feel like we'll never see a PM with grey hair ever again.

Seeing recent pictures of Clegg, Miliband and Cameron reminded me of the suits in a business class lounge. All jumped up and acting as if were masters of the universe, but not successful enough to be in first class.

So with four hats in the 'vote for me' ring, are we already at the point of farce?

Why farce? They had 5 last time in the first round. It's quite democratic... wink

The torys had 5 in the first round in 2001.

5 hats in the ring, but the unions are busy getting members to sign up to vote so that they can choose the leader. Miliband's new voting system actually looks as if it will give more power to the unions than before.

Which is a good thing, clearly.

Both a goof and a good thing, I think. wink

By starting with a national rail strike, the unions are just playing into the government's hands. They will lose all power over the next five years.

Liz Kendall out of the current crop, I hope.
Hopelessly out of her depth.
Much like Cameron.
roflIf that wasn't suppoosed to be ironic, then you must be on some very strong drugs.
It's the only logical reason for him not fronting up for the leader's debates.

Just keep telling yourself that. It may console you in the dark moments when you cry into your pillow at the unfairness of it all and the savage destruction that the Tories plan to visit upon the country.

I understood the idea was a carefully conceived plan to place Ed on an equal footing with 'the rest of the losers' on the podium.

Gosh, if only there was some way of having such a decision validated.

CMD being quietly self-assured and statesmanlike in the decision while avoiding the ner ner peer pressure of the kindergarten response...that goes some way.

And then...he won the election outright.

Heck, you may be on to something.

You don't think the campaign might have done a bunch of stuff, and chosen not to do some other stuff, with that aim in mind all along?

That does put a whole new slant on the endeavour, looking at it like that.

I feel silly now, thinking the logical thing to do would have been whatever someone like Owen Jones tweeted about.

After 13 years of New Labour and 5 years of compromise coalition, I think one could allow a little slack for a month or 2...

Distinctly possible.

It's hardly as described by deadslow, but you're right all the same as some slack is needed not least due to an additional aggravating factor - the pre-election hubris of the left not just on PH but everywhere. Also let's not forget the immediate criticism of Cameron over interference.
