The fact is that , whatever your political leanings, if you had a pissup in a brewery to organise this weekend you wouldn't be putting a fking call in to the Labour Party to help out. The whole thing - from the pisspoor candidates, the last minute Dave Spart messiah, to the ludicrous "purges" is a total fking fiasco. And it reflects directly on their ability as an entity to organise and lead things. I wouldn't let them walk my fking dog.
& they could have been taking that call at 3am. Scary

And an even larger majority voted for a party other than Labour. Similar for UKIP, Libs, etc.
Yep, it's the reason why I believe in Federalism and PR
Not enough people voted for electoral reform with AV, the chances of a PR vote are slimmer than slim and it would be equally unlikely to succeed if it happened.

While Jeremy Corbyn now appears to be a shameless anti-semite, despite the protestations of his sycophantic supporters who have yet to justify his lack of support for Israel or his invitations to holocaust-deniers to come to the Houses of Parliament, this blunder from Übermensch is comically damning. With those in power, and those vying for it so feckless, corrupt and dishonest, I can't help but feel this country is more fked with every day that passes.

For what it's worth the "anti-Semite" slurs are disgusting. He quite clearly is not a hater of Jews. The quick and easy way this tag is passed around for anyone who even Attempts to engage with the can of worms that is the Middle East is despicable

How does having no support for Israel make him anti-Semitic?

Does the fact that I think Israel has committed some outrageous acts over the years make me so?

I don't think so.

Inviting radical anti-Israel holocaust deniers to the HoP is what marks him out as a clear anti-semite. I can see no other reason for him to invite an extremist hate preacher to London as a "special guest".

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I've no idea if that was Corbyn's motivation, but I'd far rather jaw jaw than war war

That is a great clip of Finklestein. It must be only the terminally stupid or those lacking in comprehension that think Corbyn is an anti-semite, but any slur is a good slur in an election.

Don't all conflicts end in negotiation?. Had we done a bit more talking and a bit less bombing in the past 30 years or so the world might look a bit different.
NI has had a measure of peace and quiet but it meant dealing with people who had blood on their hands.

yes

I don't like his policies in general but the whole he's a jew hater bandwagon is ridiculous. The American and Israeli media did the same with Ron Paul in America (and now to his son Rand) - again both of whom have questionable policies in general but the allegations that they hate jews was and is based on some pretty flimsy evidence.

In the eyes of many if you are a public figure and do not 100% back Israel and it's policies then you are an anti-semite. Tbh just like so called Islamophobia even the word itself is ridiculous because Arabs and Jews are both semites.

No they don't.

Some end in total "unconditional surrender", others ended in a Mushroom Cloud.

Some times it is good to talk I agree, with ideological and religious nut jobs who throw people off roof tops and burn others alive like Mr Corbyns friends....just bomb the fk out of the s

I think it's a fallacy to believe that just because conflict often ends in negotiation that we should always leap straight to it. Often it's the conflict that frames the negotiation and establishes the relative strength of each side's negotiating position.

Labour have non I can think of and the snp is full of young people and yet they all look like a bag of broken spanners. (For balance Gecko is obliged to point out he is no oil painting either)

Japan, The US installed a government under MacArthur....

Germany, The Allied powers operated a De-Nazi program, installed regional military governors, ran the factories, controlled the banks, Police (what was left), Law Courts, Wrote the Constitution, supplied food, materials etc...called the Marshal Plan.

They did not negotiate anything.
