It just shows that the Labour Party has no core. It is a loose coalition of different left wing groupings that distrust each other.
Mirrors the Tories in that respect - although I wouldn't claim that many labour mp's are "left wing", and nor would they.

If that's your view on his leadership style then you will have a very rude awakening once he's stood at the dispatch box.
Just the evidence from this campaign so far

As to why Corblimey shouldn't even be a member of Labour, I'm surprised you should even ask. He's voted against the Labour whip more times than David Cameron. In fact, on over 500 occasions. Yes, 500! And now he's running for bloody leader! It's extraordinary isn't it. On the other hand, the are expelling all and sundry they suspect of not being in accord with Labour values... It's ironic, no?
Not really. I think if you asked many labour voters, including his own constituents, they would probably support many of his rebellions. Maybe we'd like more politicians to stand up for what they believe in. I agree that it could make it hard for him to lead the party if he tries to dictate policy. He needs to revitalise members, the PLP, shadow cabinet and the conference as key policy making bodies rather than rely on a few rich mates, Murdoch & the Daily Mail for guidance.

They aren't expelling anyone btw, as the people being denied a vote aren't party members. The leadership election rules are crazy - in comparison you can't even vote for a council candidate until you have been a party member for 12 months.

I'm still undecided, but the smears and scares about Corbyn will inevitably push votes his way.

I must've heard something wrong... but did I hear on the radio today that Corbyn's going to introduce women only carriages on trains? As if it's Saudi Arabia already!

Smears? What smears? Are you seriously suggesting people have been making up stories and insane untruths about him and his policies? If you've got any evidence of such a tactic then I'd love to see it. It must be so far fetched as to be almost unbelievable.

Meantime, please do vote for Jezza, it would be terrific for the rest of us. Honestly only Labour are so utterly and comprehensively inept as to design an election system such as this. It speaks volumes for the competence of Labour, more than the Tories could ever say.

the fall out is going to be compulsive viewing. I suggest ITV scrap their Soaps for a couple of months and focus on the real life Drama known as "The Labour party"

If Corbyn does win the contest is he really a stranger choice of leader than Iain Duncan Smith was for the Conservatives?

I think it's just the rank-and-file of the party giving a kick in the balls to the upper ranks of whom they've become disillusioned over the past fifteen years or so.

The Tories aren't even close to that. The biggest dividing line amongst the Tories is the EU. If the Tories were as split as you'd like to think, UKIP would have achieved more than two defections. In the 90s, Labour was focused on winning power, rather than infighting. The Tories were focused on fighting over a single issue. Now, the Tories are focused on retaining power, while Labour is fighting itself over multiple issues.

Well with all this vile racial harassment, which is apparently rife, surely it is only a matter of time until Jezza proposes carriages segregated into "Whites" and "Non-Whites"...

Oh wait!

What a disgusting article.

Not enough that the poor woman had to endure those repeated ordeals, but then some journalist mocks her for her incredible act of bravery on standing up and being willing to talk about the horrors she suffered.

I for one applaud the brave campaigner for highlighting the nauseating willingness of men to occasionally say hello to someone, even though it makes me ashamed to be a man, knowing there are people like that out there.

'm thinking I should turn myself in at Bishopsgate Police Station and confess to multiple instances of talking to women. There have even been occasions when I've gone further than that. I'm so ashamed.

JC must be seriously happy right now. He made some passing comment in response to a direct question on the subject and actually uttered something quite vague about being happy to discuss/consult on the idea of Female Only Carriages

fk me it has been a 48 hour media war out there based on one remark. He really is setting the news/media agenda at the moment. Imagine if someone asked him about his foreign policy ideas on Israel, Cuba or Russia - it would be a melt down.

Anyone have a clue if Andy Burnham has said anything in this campaign that has merited more than two lines in the press. He made some fairly offensive sexist remarks about Women not being ready to lead the Labour Party, but that seems to be it.

The media scramble to inflate every "crazy" thing he says would probably work against him in a GE, but to Labour members will probably push more voters his way. I voted against Scottish independence in the Indyref, but am convinced that the high YES vote had as much to do with the NO campaign pissing people off as anything the SNP did.

Additionally, and on a totally shallow level, I just can't imagine anyone voting for Burnham in a GE. He looks ineffectual and insincere. Kendall reminds me of Rebecca Front from The Thick of It, Cooper like a patronising school teacher. Corbyn actually does just look like the old leftie he is, which must make him positively heroic by comparison.
