I can't find any links, can you back that up?

I'm a little worried that's actionable...

Bloody hell no, Labour did stuff the Cons would have been crucified by the BBC for, Prescott having a load of cheap flats in the Shard after he overturned the refusal of PP for it being just one example.
And let's not forget Bernie's £1M to New Labour... which googling, did find this genuinely funny interview (sorry, it's DM):

I think he means this:
http://www.theguardian.com/society/2003/nov/19/urb...

The government has ignored the advice of its own heritage agency by approving construction today of the "shard of glass" - the tallest tower block in Europe. In a move that will change the skyline of London, the deputy prime minister, John Prescott, has given the go-ahead for the 66-storey London Bridge Tower after a public inquiry. His decision is likely to encourage other tower block developments in the city.

Did we also forget that donation was returned. Also has Bernie ever donated to the Tory Party? Some say £13m but, that maybe pure media speculation .... Has there ever been any truth in the reports that Bernie would support the Party handsomely for Max Mosely to become an MP?

OK, I imagined, dreamed or made all that up.

No, I hadn't forgotten. It's return was, in part, irrelevant to my point that the issues of rich people funding parties is not a Tory only issue.

Personally I think we should scrap (or cap) party funding.

I always thought that was the funniest part of the story. IIRC:
  • It could be argued that he bought a Labour/Govt policy change for a £1mio donation.
  • People found out about it.
  • Outcry ensued
  • The Labour party got embarrassed and gave the money back.
  • However, they couldn't admit that the policy change was in any way linked to the donation so they had to leave that in place.
  • Bernie got what he wanted for free!
You couldn't make it up.

It's an electoral suicide note, and if just half the UKIP voters go to the Cons next election it'll be a landslide.

Imagine the teeth gnashing and foot stamping from our anti Tory friends who were out in force after the election if they won another term, with a bigger majority rofl

Now tell me the EU is in widespread good health, shape and things will continue to improve for all members.

Slow burn matter of time. Who will be expected to pick up the tab? Give you three guesses although only one should suffice. Meanwhile, EU tills ringing daily to the tune of £50m outgoing daily for the UK and rising. Another bonus.

Throw ever wider the doors .... Unsustainable. ... frown

New Labour had good electoral successes under Blair, but their recent lurch to the left has diddled that and if they carry on in the same vain they will be a party of opposition for some time to come - a few terms I'd wager.
