Because he didn't like the idea of being under the spotlight/scrutiny, then three days later a newspaper ran a story about him being a member of a very exclusive and expensive club, indicating that he's actually quite affluent, moves in "higher circles" than the rest of us and is generally a member of high class society.

Somehow people were genuinely shocked by this "discovery".

Yes but to give her due, she is the biggest hypocrite in the entire HoC and has demonstrated time and again that she will do or say absolutely anything she can to keep her hand somewhere near the tiller of power.

A truly horrible human being.
Methinks the toad doth protest too much.

I think you lurve her. You want her. You want to do kissy squelchy stuff to her lady bits, don't you?
If she was the last woman on earth, I'd still be drilling a hole in a watermelon and bunging it in a microwave.

No. Honestly if you want unelectable you need Yvette Cooper. Seriously - Liz Kendall could do the Labour Party an electable leader (so far).

The issue will be that Cameron has said he'll do two terms and that's it. So who's to replace him? Someone with more electability than Liz Kendall I hope....she's a real danger because she's actually quite a personable politician. (Given they are all scum etc etc)

If she gets in front of the British public enough who knows!?

Yvette Cooper another vastly experienced Woman who has had success in life as in business....oh sorry wrong woman.
How long do we have to endure these Oxford/Cambridge Politics Graduates havent we had enough of them.
then you have Andy Burham a labour party member since he was 14. The Conservatives must think they have won the lottery.

Whoever they select as leader will be leader for the next five years and there won't be a change of leader after three years said Harman?

So they could enter the next General Election with another unelectable leader and having denied themselves the opportunity of putting a better candidate in charge after three years?

They still seem to be playing politics.

At least they're on the correct side of the House.

That's Labour's problem. At the moment it is merely academic. All current potential leader candidates are far too lightweight and do not appear to possess any semblance of statesmen or stateswomen like qualities. As Labour will be marking time for the next five years at least, best to go without until someone with the right qualities can be found in the party. Tough call now.

Currently watching Tory Grandee Ken Clarke on Sunday Politics. He's in favour of sooner rather than later for the Referendum. I wonder what his latent motives are for that.

Cameron marked the Nation's card about "going" months ago. Wise man.

I think he's on a sharp kick up the Jacksee whatever way he bends over post 2017 IN-OUT outcome. Only one way this Nation will genuinely benefit from EU membership....

this looks to me like the begining of the end for the Labour party. Unless they merge with the SNP and LibDems they will never see power again. We can live in hope
