Anyone else watching the car crash on BBC2?

Somewhere at the Tory HQ there are champagne corks popping!

Make Red Ed appear sensible. The country should rejoice, and also lament that we do not have a decent opposition.

Apparently certain folk are promotoing the idea of paying £3 to vote for Corbyn.

Is that what being a member ( I assume its such?) of the idiot Labour party costs? How do you get to vote for the loon?

Apparently the Labour Thought Police will vet every application to be assured of the applicant's commie credentials.

What a great way to tie them up in knots - though the odds must be high that the same approach will be used as per Miliband's team vetting local Labour flyers during the election campaign. The locals were required to send their draft to HQ for approval, and duly did so. It turns out that one lot completely forgot to attach their file to the email, but HQ replied anyway and said that the content was fine and to go ahead.

This will be like Hague in 1997 - what a horrible contest to win. It's unlikely Labour will win in 2020 and then they'll just have another election all over again. Perhaps that was Chuka's plan all along, and David Miliband's too.

There is also a Labour party election in Scotland going on. Kezia Dugdale is the favourite to win that however when the Scottish Labour party had their last leadership election late last year Dugdale refused to run for the leadership describing herself as a "sidekick, not a superhero".

When they find out it will be interesting to see if they change their policies to appeal to more people, or try to persuade more people that their existing policies are the right ones. Blair sold out traditional socialist principles in return for power, Miliband stayed true to his (misguided) principles and lost, comprehensively.
If they don't do the latter, they can likely look forward to a very long period in opposition. In the last 40 years, precisely one Labour leader has won a general election. Tony Blair.

This country likes the idea of a left wing major party. It just doesn't want it running things.

Harriet Harperson today said Labour wouldn't oppose the Tories' welfare reforms. Both Corbyn and Burnham came out to say that policy is wrong.

Yes, Harperson had to remind Burnham that constantly opposing austerity measures and having no credible economic policy was what helped lose them the election.

I think the penny's finally dropped, with her at least.

Is Tony Blair still in for a shout? Utterly hated man but to be honest I think he has more of chance than ANY of the ones they are forwarding at the moment. Plus he did turn round the Labour party. What they really need is a TB mark 2 but less of a war mandate.

Looking at the current crop there is non that stand out plus in this age it all comes down to if the media loves you and this lot...nah!

I saw the gang of four on the BBC this morning for five minutes. Wow what a choice to make actually no choice at all.
Since when did the BBC become the offical Labour Party's own TV channel.
I do hope Corbyn wins it will be fun.

She's shown more leadership credential in the last 2 months than Miliband did in 5 years and the new hopefuls are showing.

I have never liked her 'egalitarian' agenda in the past, but she's possibly the best leader Labour never really had.

According to the BBC she has backed down somewhat this morning. Now thats leadership.
Seems the new leader will be the same as the old leader so why not have a debate now as to how they lost the next election.

What the Hell has it to do with eugenics? It's population growth control at worst, and benefits cost limiting at best. It has nothing to do with genetic purity. Idiot!

There's a stronger argument that the cap removes such a policy.
