To clarify and I may have speed-read.

I think our guys were not sold down the river (though I think many were poorly supported on return) - they defended the Falklands against an invasion that we were only just about equipped to fight.

I think the Argentinian soldiers were sold down the river - as the invasion was for no real gain - just posturing, so a double insult to their skills as soldiers.

Some of the Argie pilots found that ejection whacked their kneecaps and broke their legs before anything else untoward happened. From memory the investigation of one such incident found that ejections at operating speed in combat were beyond the design safe-speed of the ejection system in use. That's one system that pilots need absolute confidence in.
