She's just the first of that generation. Another 10 years and there'll be plenty.

Sadly she will become a bit of a cult( I think I've spelt that right)figure in many circles and will go on to make lots of money and breed like a bloody rabbit.

Well she must be doing something right going by the frenzy some of the hand wringers in here are getting themselves into. Some of the replies are hilarious, you would think MP's up until this point had been modeled on Jesus Christ himself.

Good luck to her.

Does this girl actually have any real life experience at all, or are her qualifications solely based on half a degree, and on hurling shocking cybernat abuse at people on twitter?

If it was up to me, all MPs would have had to have worked in the real world (it not a local gov/council job) for at least 10 years before being allowed to stand. Then they might have a fking clue how their policies usually work for the majority of people
Ironic coming from a chap with half of a degree, who spends so much time hurling abuse on pistonheads.

Yep.

20 yrs old - got off her arse and made an effort.

I've got no idea how good she will end up as an MP, but if she was a princess or a or a tory Tarquin half the posters on here would be spaffing themselves.

Would she ever have been selected as a viable candidate for either Labour or Tories?

No.

Didn't go to the right school, do the correct university degree, come from the right family, work in a trade union or suck the correct cock.

Agreed. If she had a posh English accent and looked like a 20y/o Ffion Hague, PH would be raving. Fwiw I think she'll do a lot in bringing politics to tbe younger generation as much by who she pisses off as who she inspires. I really can't see her being any worse than Ed Balls or whoever your favourite st politician is.

To be fair we can neither confirm nor deny the last one ;-)

It was his politics that got him chucked out. There's no "despite" about it.

How comical this all turns out is now the fun part.

Believe me this girl is a special case. Basically the first Ned MP.
She's offensively common, frankly.
Or just offensive! Have you heard of her 'poor taste built on bad behaviour' record?

Also I've never heard her speak just to clear that part of your assessment up so who's being judgemental now?

You've missed a great! I saw her 'speech' on election and knowing nothing about her then winced. Actually physically painful. Rough as a badger's hairy .... is the appropriate analogy I think.

It's fairly clear that a lame chimp would have won for the SNP in her constituency, and also that the SNP were rather struggling for candidates when they resorted to her. (I guess they just couldn't find a chimp?)

So a youngster gets engaged in local politics, makes enough of an impression to get a nomination stands and wins.

And all you can do is take the piss because you think she is a bit rough around the edges and you don't like her politics?

Nice work, Realist.

I mean fk ME, she didn't go to the right school and talks with an accent! How dare they vote for her.

Douglas Alexander is one of the least impressive people I have ever seen in politics.
