Sigh. UKIP got 12.5% of the national vote, whilst the SNP got only 4.7%, so if the speaker was doing the job properly, to give everyone a `fair crack of the whip' we would be hearing a lot more from UKIP MP`s. (at least twice as much from UKIP speakers in the house, than we are doing from the SNP speakers)
Classic case of the SNP tail `trying' to wag the dog, hopefully it will be put out of the Westminster back door for the noisy nuisance that it is making of itself, if it keeps this undemocratic nonsense up.
What undemocratic nonsese? Showing up at debates and making the odd speech? If UKIP or the greens or whoever want to debate, then they can. I don't think the speaker can prevent an elected MP from speaking for his constituency in a debate, although I know there's a limit for PMQ's. According to the following link from the Mirror, Jim Shannon of the Ulster Unionists spoke more in parliament than all but three MP's:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/westminsters-...

If you're not hearing much from Douglas Carswell, it's nothing to do with the Speaker.

FPTP is really for another thread, although I don't remember PH being too supportive of the Lib Dems when they managed to squeeze in the only real chance of changing the electoral process in my adult lifetime, and I doubt there'll be much complaint when the Conservatives redraw the boundaries again.

He has made several great speeches recently, covering topics unconnected with leaving the EU:

"Chris Evans is buying antique Ferraris and Lambos because he's got so much money from the quantitative easing". I'm no economist but I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. And if it is who do I see for my bit?

Mhairi seemingly in agreement.

You know what they say about the best argument against democracy. TBH, I don't think I've ever wasted my time arguing against the points made by a taxi driver.

It's not funny. They get to vote on their own hunting rules, and then on ours which don't affect them.
hehe
If you think hunting with dogs is in any way acceptable, then you need to have a bloody good word with yourself. If you want to control foxes then I'd suggest a decent .22 rifle, such a rifle is a quick, efficient method of despatching a fox. Using Tory ideology, it's the most cost effective way of carrying out the job too.

Fox hunting isn't about vermin control, it's about chasing a fox around for the fun of it. "The unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable", as Oscar Wilde once put it.

It's why British colonists introduced foxes to Australia - to have something to hunt.

So basically, just sheer cruelty then? Unacceptable in any decent persons' thinking - especially in this modern age. If you think it's ok, then I'd call you a , but you obviously have neither the depth, nor the warmth.

The issue isn't whether it's right or not, it's that Sturgeon specifically ruled out voting on it because it is an English only issue. Then they voted on it.

Let me ask you if you think fox hunting with dogs is acceptable....or do you think it's abhorrent?
