Funny you should say that.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-pol...
She's a bit late on the 'blame Brexit' bandwagon, isn't she?! Of course none of the problems will have anything to do at all with SNP economic mismanagement. This announcement is so transparent it is laughable, and the range of figures are so wildly extreme they are clearly guesswork. Thing is, though, a large proportion of SNP voters are anti-Europe too because they are true to the core beliefs of the Nationalists as expressed by Jim Sillars. Sturgeon has nailed her colours to the EU mast and that stands to lose her as more support amongst the faithful as it would win over any potential waverers.

Happy to be ruled by people 800 miles away they cannot elect.
Complains about being dragged out of a union with the EU and what it will cost the Scottish economy.
Happy to leave a union with its biggest export market and benefactor and doesn't care what it will cost the Scottish economy.
That's SNPwang
Looks like the media haven't taken the squirrel-bate. BBC have ignored Sturgeon's doom-and-gloom Brexit figures and are eagerly awaiting today's GERS figures, predicting another shortfall.
I'm sure more than one reporter has spotted the irony in Nicola Sturgeon quoting the exact same research that George Osborne used before the EU refereundum adjusted per-capita for Scotland.

It's strange how she didn't release info like this before the indy ref. Scotland would have been out of the EU if it had been a yes vote.I'm sure more than one reporter has spotted the irony in Nicola Sturgeon quoting the exact same research that George Osborne used before the EU refereundum adjusted per-capita for Scotland.
And the nonsense continues to flow...

She can continue with this line all she wants, as we know it will be down to Parliament to decide if and when another referendum can be announced. I wonder if she has realised that May will not roll over as easily as Cameron did for IndyRef mk1??

"For the past two months Scottish government officials have been drafting a bill that would authorise a second referendum.
They can't, it's a reserved power
There won't be a time table, just a few ifs, whens and maybes, got to keep banging the drum so the faithful don't lose interest.

At what point can we object to the use of taxpayer money to fund what is obviously a party political aim? As pointed out, this is not a power within their remit and they are clearly using non-party money to fund this "drafting" of a bill which can go nowhere. Add that to Sturgeon's flying all over Europe for her party purposes and not for genuine parliamentary business. Do they forget they lost 2 years ago? Do they forget they are a minority government?Welshbeef said:
So straight after the GERS sturgeon has announced within 2 weeks legislation will be prepared for Indy ref 2.
What a crock. SNP - the one trick pony. This will of course require independence to be debated ad-nauseum in Holyrood, thus ensuring the topic remains in the news and the knuckledragging support stay on the hook.
That the legislation will be unlawful and unenforceable under the Scotland Agreement (not to mention EU and UN conventions also) is pretty much a given, and hasn't stopped the SNP wasting time on useless bills in the past.
Meanwhile, Scotland sinks further under SNP mismanagement. It really says a lot of the non-indy supporting SNP voter that this is the way they want to be governed.

Just to add, disappointed that Tesco no longer show the saltire on products, if I ever went near the place it would have been easy to avoid purchasing. They are getting sneaky, it is easy to steer clear of scottish salmon and aberdeen beef, maybe they will be rebranded next?
Fair point (and probably in jest) - I decided against booking a B&B purely on the fact it was adorned with SNP banners last year, but I'd imagine that most decent businesses were actually against Independence proposals, actually. I'm sure the whiskey distillers were, at any rate. Most would be aware of where their biggest customers where, so I don't mind supporting those with a more sensible view of the Union at all.Just to add, disappointed that Tesco no longer show the saltire on products, if I ever went near the place it would have been easy to avoid purchasing.
