I guess the issue the SNP have is that their sole reason for being is to keep going for Indy refs until they get the answer they want.

But if that's what they are constantly spending their time on then they are simply not governing it is a one policy party :- which I guess is fair enough, sadly plenty of Scots voted for the SNP purely for the "work" they were doing to govern the country and not interested in the Indy part of what they stand for.

It's pretty tiring now really droning on and on. Given powers yet they fundamentally refuse to use them? Why? They want the levers to drive the economy - and take the benefits that it can yield but are so st scared to implement anything as they know if it doesn't work then it's a massive problem for them.
They can only but increase taxes which is a massive problem. Cutting spending is possible - but Scottish councils have not had any cuts relative to the RUK so it has such a massive way to decrease spend and then up council tax to the public it's now unpalatable.
Raise taxes - on who? Low earners? No. Very high earners? Well how much would it really yield even it my it went to 50%? Not that much I'd wager. So it needs tax increases for the 20% and 40% workers. Or reduce the starting point of the 20% or decrease the starting point of he 40% but it needs to be big changes.
All the tax increases always only assume that the taxees will be happy to remain living in Scotland while getting reamed to keep the SNP's core voters in tracksuits and ciggies.

What's to stop people from leaving? Offshore workers sure as hell don't need to stay in Scotland to travel to/from the rigs once a fortnight, and many employers offer flexible working, working from home etc.

Do they actually run the country?!?! Just seems like they have one policy and don't talk about anything else.

In which case even FFA is actually utterly meangingless within the UK as if they deviate from the UK prevailing rate is to increase it then they lose out. If they decrease it they will not draw enough people into Scotland to mitigate the tax revenue drop from prevailing residence so would need a huge increase in population to have any impact.

Frankly I cannot see anyway they can get it to work.

I hope this is being funded by the SNP and not the taxpayer.

Uk taxpayer.

This after the worst kept secret regarding SNP plans to recommission the Britannia looks like it might actually be going ahead. I can't imagine the queen being happy seeing the Scottish first minister sailing around on her old boat.

Perhaps the U.K. Taxpayer will pay for both? At least we'll get to see Britannia sail again. Even if it's going to be the SNPs.

Not my dreams but it would be good to see her seaworthy again. I suppose it's theirs to do what they want with now anyway.

Now if someone could just produce a run of stickers in white lettering on blue, designed to sit next to "Yes 2" that reads "Freedom Poverty!!".....

On both occasions, I was shocked to see the extreme levels of squalor and poor habitation in the area, caused largely by rogue landlords neglecting their duties and exploiting tenants.

I was on it a few weeks ago. All it's navigation kit needs upgrading, the launderette looks like something from the Victorian times and the engines haven't turned for god knows how long.

On top of that it'll need terrorist proofing. It's also an extremely popular tourist attraction and I don't think the Scottish government have a say in what happens to it.

You might as well build a new ship.

Nice thought though.

At an average of £342 per flight that's not bad to be fair.

Flybe Glasgow to London City, takes an hour, easy as fking pie.

A friend of mine works as an attachè at the HoP (not for this mob) and she is always there apparently, more so than many other MPs who live closer to London - she is seldom at her constituency at all, shock a fking roo.

The extra money gets you a flexible ticket in case you need to change time, and access to the lounge, fast track security. Not really worth it if you are going to make the flight you booked IMHO.
