Rather than bickering about this that in the next thing I'd, just once, like to hear from nationalists why Scotland would be better off independent?

In what way would a failed economy and, ultimately, bankruptcy benefit the people of Scotland? (For the purposes of answering let's agree that the figures bandied about by Salmond during the referendum campaign were wrong - see current £18 billion hole in the budget over 3 years due to oil price).

o it is a group of countries bound together by treaties, one of which is the UK of where Scotland is one of its regions.
The UK's Office for National Statistics, uses "country" to describe England, Scotland and Wales.[5] Northern Ireland, in contrast, is described as a "province" in the same lists.
The Scottish white paper describes Scotland as

"As a regional economy within the UK"

Ahh the old Scotland's a region of the UK red herring
What does it matter whether Scotland is a region, a country, a county or a province? It's just an area where people live.

You used a very weak argument to justify Labour going into bed en-masse with very unsavoury characters to "save the Union".
Going back to this one - no one got 'into bed' with anyone. To suggest that disparate groups who agree on one thing are in fact all the same is abject nonsense. Once again that is a narrative-cum-institutionalised lie that suits the nationalists because it also underpins their assertion that they speak for Scotland (they don't), and that anyone who rejects independence is a traitor/quisling/unpatriotic (they aren't).

Oh, and 'Red Tory' (for us or against us in other words). Red herring more like.

All part of the same narrative, and an appalling way to garner support and stifle debate at the same time.
