No need to compare him to Edinburger or Strocky though, we may not agree with them but at least they are pleasant and able to string a sentence together.

Waste of a seaman.
The question was asked how did Alex Salmond and the SNP swell support for independence from 30% when the referendum was called to 45% when the poll took place. A large part of the answer was tens of thousands of 'Gary's being 'engaged in politics for the first time', which essentially meant SNP activists turning up at the door with a voter registration form already filled in ready for 'Gary' to sign.
Seems like Gary quite enjoyed engaging with the electorate himself.

I see a source for the 2nd quote, but not the 1st, funny thatAlex Salmond. Scottish White Paper preface pg 12.
"But we are rich in human talent and natural resources. We are one of the wealthiest nations in the world. With independence, we can build the kind of country we want to be.
People down the decades have wondered if a country blessed with such wealth, talent and resources could and should have done more to realise the potential we know exists for everyone. Those generations could only imagine a better Scotland.
Our generation has the opportunity to stop imagining and wondering and start building the better Scotland we all know is possible."
Alex Salmond, Scottish White Paper preface pg13.

A relation of mine who was originally British but has relocated to Texas was visiting the UK for a funeral earlier this year and asked me what I thought of the referendum.Seems like Gary quite enjoyed engaging with the electorate himself.
Being diplomatic I said something to the effect of that I was against it for a multitude of reasons but it had raised political awareness among those who might not otherwise be interested.
She followed that saying, '...but maybe those people would be better staying out of politics if they're not interested in the first place.'
I kind'a agree.

Which is why I believe Alex Salmond clutches at straws when he says independence is inevitable. Scraping the barrel to mobilise the most disinterested, intellectually and morally challenged individuals to their cause couldn't get them over the line, and with these people engaged in only one issue and lacking the wherewithal and patience to grasp workings of the full process they will simply drop off electoral roll again, and I do not believe that the SNP have the financial resources to repeat the previous exercise ad-infinitum.I kind'a agree.

...Hey Strocky/Fluff/etc, this is how the rest of the world sees an independent Scotland. This is not the media or its perceived bias, it's unadulterated social media.
Methinks if you, (or the SNP), want the rest of the world to take you seriously you might want to rebel against this sort of thing from the roots up rather than blame someone else for bad publicity.
You know there are a few car pics in his profile and at least one video, I wonder if he has ever found his way to PH?
