This conjured an image that was not good.

Just went to the shop and had to park up outside the polling station. The pesterers have arrived, and the fuds in cars with flags flying out the windows.

Is anyone is Scotland voting based on how well the current Government have performed over the last 4-5 years?

Education, Health etc etc?

Can I make a suggestion, that when this thread moves over to the next volume, if not sooner, we call it the Scottish Politics thread rather than the Scottish Referendum / Independence thread. It just seems more appropriate now.

I think prior to the IndyRef they did. Now it seems to be more about getting a big majority for the SNP or stopping one.

Personally I feel the current government have not respected the result of the referendum and therefore even if I thought they had done very well in other areas I couldn't vote for the SNP. For the foreseeable future I'll vote for however I perceive to be the strongest pro union party

Is this what we've come to?

Disregarding what this guy may or may not have said about the holocaust (and it doesn't seem to have been the reason for his removal). Was he really moved by police for waving the flag of our country? At a political rally?

https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/politics/scot...

I fear for the rest of us if they ever get their way.

Until the SNP lose the reigns, it will continue to be the Scottish Independence debate tbh.

Looks like he was carrying on, disrupting the rally - flag or no flag?

Final score. 33% turnout.
Our 6 tables didn't get over 38% for turnout.

Be interesting to see how that goes against the wider average.

I predict the snp will get back in. Tory for opposition.

Shockingly poor turnout. It's almost like the Scots don't want another layer of government interfering in their lives.

33% total turnout for the MSP's.... So really whoever wins is without question not the settled will of the country and possibly under 1/7th of the population

To use a word I've not used for 20-odd years and was reminded of by emicen, the guy was being a fud; I watched it on the news, Dear Leader was trying to hold a press 'moment' and he insisted in trying to hold the flag in front of her so the cameras couldn't see. He was a fud and the police were being quite accommodating in not sticking his flagpole up his jacksie.

Sounds like he was doing us a favour. fk her press moment, if more people took a bit of direct action we might not end up sleepwalking into Yes oblivion.

In other news the fat wk Salmond is already crowing about taking every seat in Glasgow. Unthinkable even a few years ago, Labour really need to get a fking grip.

If we end up 'independent' the blame will lie fairly and squarely with Labour. From Dewar and his stupid devolution to their succession of useless Scottish leaders, to Blair and Iraq it goes on and on. To completely lose a working class city like Glasgow in less than a generation is shameful.

STV's coverage of election night is pish; Bernie's on his tod back in the studio and the talking heads and Rona are broadcasting from someone's front room. I think they must be saving money.

SobI've just skimmed over the last few pages and it's the age-old same:

- SNP are scum
- Only plebs vote SNP
- The hate the English, etc.
- They're not fit for purpose
- Etc., etc.

Don't judge everyone by the actions of a few.

I'm voting in half an hour - both Conservative.

Why?

I think they're the only party and the only leader to offer strong opposition at Holyrood. And I agree with many of their policies and proposals.

Although I've voted SNP before, I've been very disappointed by them recently.
Fair play for your honesty burger, and your judgement.
