To be fair, that just looks like an honest mistake/oversight. There are plenty of issues to have a go at him much more important than this.

I was going to post something similar, but this is a guy with massive responsibility, and an 'honest mistake' on his part at work could cost the nation millions. He's got a high-powered position which means he should display higher standards when it comes to process, especially when it is something that falls directly in his remit.

Plus, this isn't a one-off.

If I were going to chance driving a mate's car without insurance and I were a politician, that would be my excuse if I got caught. I'm sure he did believe he was insured, though.

I have to admire his consistency.

Knows fk all about planes, boats and trains.

Now he can proudly add cars and insurance to the list.

Points and fine for him?

Given his default demeanor is smug, sneering and self-satisfied this is rich in schadenfreude.

Even the snp voters I know can't stand the guy. Does anyone apart from nippy Nikki actually like this walking disaster?

More evidence of the political influence and pressure on agencies and civil servants by the SNP.

The Student Awards Agency of Scotland (SAAS) wrote a report which included a part about how student bursaries for low income students were cut by the SNP in order to protect free tuition in higher education and the Nats made SAAS delete this from the report.

A government agency deleted claims that cuts to grants for low income students were linked to protecting free higher education after an intervention by Scottish Ministers. The Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) erased the politically toxic extract from an official report after being “made aware” of the “error” by the SNP Government.

SG's health and Sport Committee letter to the Scottish Health Secretary - and this comes from a committee with 50% SNP members. Some hard questions to answer when you've been in power for the last 10 years.

this was always going to bite them on the arse . anyone that bothered to take an interest knew what was happening. the laughable thing is scots are losing out on uni places as well with numbers dropping. all because the clowns in the snp would rather keep up appearances than admit they were wrong.

That's the Edinburgh Gateway interchange (which we've discussed here several times) open on time and to budget.

I'm not aware of any specification changes?! It's the interface between the train and train lines. Will make a big difference to lots of people.

As for your excitement about the budget... well that's just a bit odd!

So they can open a gateway?

But can't get trains to run properly...
Got an answer to the shocking decline in schools burger since you are on and up for defending stuff.

It's exciting as this is the first time that there will be different income taxes in the U.K. That is unless the SNP change the tax levels to mirror the rUK. This is tricky for them - last time they decided to make no changes which mirrored rUK but now as the rUK have increased higher tax rate to £45k from Apr2017 and SNP have agreed to let it flow with inflation. Difference next year is a higher tax payer in Scotland will pay £300 a year more in tax, roll forward to 2020 and the annual difference will be £800.. more tax in Scotland than rUK.

I wonder if they'll get rid of the c. 60% marginal tax rates for people earning £43k or whatever it was.

Where is Sturgeon hiding? Where was her touted summer campaign for independence? What's her plan for Brexit? Why are the schools st?
