It was on in the background, but I turned my head just in time to watch a sketch on the BBC show Walliams and Friend. It was politically themed - and he had Nicola Sturgeon played by Wee Jimmy Krankie. I chuckled.

Sturgeon today proposing her Brexit plan, talking about remaining in the single market and retaining a customs union with the rUK

Seems fair enough. Scottish people want to remain in the UK and in the EU economically. Might be good for the UK having part of it still in the single market,

It's not like there's any blueprint or model for how any of this exiting the EU happens anyway. As she points out, the whole process is unprecedented anyway,

It'll be tricky enough negotiating one agreement, for both sides, let alone both sides having to negotiate with Scotland too on the side. I suspect when you factor Spain in it becomes impossible anyway.

I honestly can't see that there's much appetite in the UK for a separate deal for Scotland and there's certainly no desire within the EU to do Scotland some favour that's going to cause a load of extra difficulty in this.

I presume the SNP are planning to raise taxes to pay their EU contributions?

What currency does she intend on using. It won't be the £ and certainly not the Euro.

Every week the SNP come up with a ridiculous idea of how they plan to remain in the EU or the single market despite the rUk leaving. It started within hours of the referendum result when Sturgeon claimed that she had a "veto" on the UK leaving the EU. laugh

I've had a quick read of the document. It's basically independence for Scotland paid for by the UK.

Ironically despite selling Scotland to the EU during the independence referendum debate as a great source of fish, it includes Scotland taking back control of fisheries and agriculture.

It doesn't acknowledge that the proposal creates free movement for the rUK to the EU by moving to the EU via Scotland, something that the EU won't fall for. The reverse proposals ignore the issues around the border and illegal workers. Talks about differentiated control of immigration in Australia, but doesn't acknowledge that being in the EU means no control.

International treaty making powers to be devolved, which is basically impossible without full independence. And of course the UK should continue to pay for Scotland's EU membership.

The whole point of this months gripe is not to actually change UK gov. policy (because Nippy knows that will fail), but it is to make a big grand-standing political statement and list of unrealistic demands designed to fail.

That allows them to continue with the anti-UK rhetoric. That's all they can realistically achieve and what she wants from this - more grudge / grievance politics Nothing new.

Education priorities? What education priorities?

Nah, let's mitigate the effects of a changing relationship with our distant neighbours by severing that with our closest yes

Every time she opens her mouth about the EU referendum result, she should be reminded that had she won her referendum, she'd be out of the EU.

Bridge above water or bridge above road?

I approve of the road bridge option as long as there is sufficient height or traffic below is doing in excess of 50 mph - wouldn't want to see her suffer like the good people of Scotland under the SNP

They've had rope for 10 years now, they're doing a decent job of hanging themselves TBF.

With the Police Scotland policies now, you will be lucky to be ALLOWED to get over 50

I hope all this policy making & gadding about in the EU isnt being assisted by civil servants, and is being paid for by the SNP,if Holyrood doesnt have devolved foreign policy remit(I dont think they do,do they?)

I still don't get why both parties in London want to carry on subsidising Scotland. Mind you, I don't know why the South East bothers subsidising the rest of the country.

It's somewhat ironic given her current demigod status with the plebs that she'll likely end up as the biggest failure in SNP history.

Marching them all to the top of the hill, havering to anyone that will listen and ultimately retreating back down again.

What an ahole.

Instead of the insult, would you care to share and explain why you think he's wrong? (It's kinda the purpose of a forum).

Gosh, that worked so well. hehe I feel so much safer and empowered now Holyrood is forcing people to either dispose of air guns or pay to licence them. Meanwhile the trains don't fking work, education isn't and the economy slumbers on.
I feel safer with the nukes parked in Scotland rather than in London. Having obedient people in the nether regions of the Union is a good thing for us.
I assume you're just here to wind people up?

I think you're right but she has to be seen to do something given that 62% of Scots voted to remain.

Oh, and we're the most heavily taxed part of the UK.
