The 'No to the EU' campaign

Yes but London has done well specifically because it sits in the EU. The single market has allowed UK, US and Swiss firms to centre their European operations inside the EU to passport their products widely into the EU and outside too. London benefits from language (English is the language of business), freedom (people like to live here, we are open and cosmopolitan), regulation (the English legal system is respected the world over, the FCA is a proper regulator) and availability of talent.
The EU could freeze our products out of the EU. My business might have to relocate to within the EU, depending on the trade deals done on finance and the grandfathering of existing products (more than half my clients are in the EU). Existing products might have rights to be sold, perhaps new products would be approved for sale too.
London would still have some innate advantages. I've lived and worked in Frankfurt. It isn't a patch on London. there isn't the talent there. Bt if people are forced to go there, it could gain momentum. Don't underestimate the German desire to have Finanzplatz Deutschland outcompete London.
By the way, before anyone froths, I am most likely to vote out. But I think there will be a negative impact on the City and financial services.
I'm glad someone else sees this risk. Frankfurt maybe duller than London but the motivation will clearly be there. The EU could freeze our products out of the EU. (I have fond memories of going to the Frankfurt motorshow in CLK55 - 15 years ago now!)
Galloway, Farage, Gove and Johnson...
I'd be worried if Hannan was firmly taking center stage.
Thankfully though the Brexit (or is it Flexit or perhaps Part-Ex-It now?) campaign seem to be pushing the more repellent figureheads forward for some reason. Either that or they have no strategy & just the loudest shouters win.

"The most recent addition is a poll conducted by ICM between 6 and 8 May" so it's hardly historical either. No wonder Remain are moving beyond desperation, they may well have information that shows Leave are in front post-08 May, which would be unexpected but welcome.

I wish it were that simple.
So how does it work then? What does a bank whose head office is in (for example) New York do? Move their head office to Europe, or incorporate a division of the company there which has responsibility for just the EU?The head people will want the other senior people close by. The senior people will want their juniors close by. The juniors want to be close to the person who decides their bonus. They then find that the office space costs a fraction of what it does in London. The staff accommodation costs less too so, even after relocation costs, remuneration is lower. London becomes a branch of the Frankfurt office.
Having lived in Frankfurt, I can tell you it works as a city. Traffic flows better than London. The airport is better, closer and easier. The work/life balance is better (if you have a family).
