It's not just the UK, or even another European country that has 'issues'

Here is a video from the very recent UKIP conference in Doncaster..

An entrepreneur from Ghana basically saying that the EU is killing economies in Africa.

Common external tariff? Farage has been pointing out that reducing our tariffs on Africa would be a better policy than sending them aid for some time.

Indeed it is.

It would be good to create a wiki list of all the big guns who have joined the 'out' campaign. If it were in a jpg format I could use it on Twitter. I would do this myself but dont know how to hope someone else could sort it smile

I will start pulling together names, organisations and quotes....
I could do this...

I seriously struggle to understand how anyone could genuinely believe the EU is worth keeping, let alone believe it's worth being a member of.

I am a aware of nothing, and I challenge anyone to show me anything to the contrary, that the EU has achieved that is worthwhile and couldn't have been achieved without the EU existing.

Recent years have shown again and again that, as an entity, it is inept, incapable and a huge waste of resources.
Free movement of labour.

Which turned into a free movement of benifit claimants, people forget that people have been coming to this country for centuries for work, the only difference was it was controlled.

In my inbox. Text reproduced below, images stripped out. It's quite a nice looking, professionally put together email.

Dear Xxx,

Thank you for being an active supporter of our campaign Leave.eu! We are looking to set up regional groups in your area, so if you would like to become a local group organiser then let us know. We will then look to allocate out areas for groups.

We are building an interactive section on our website for groups, where you will be able to publicize events, have group discussions, answer polls on matters that interest and concern you.

---

HOW DO I SETUP A LEAVE.EU GROUP?

If you are interested in setting up a Leave.eu local campaign group:

We will need you to email:
Your contact details (not made public)
Your planned meeting place (ie house, town hall...)
The time and frequency of your planned meetings
We will give you as much assistance and support that you may need for the set-up of your local Leave.eu campaign group. It's a great way to spread the word and meet like minded people in your area. We will be looking to televise some of these local events and one of these could be yours!

Local groups undertake a variety of activities and give you the opportunity to:
Meet and socialise with like-minded people
Debate on LOVE EUROPE! LEAVE THE EU issues
Learn, exchange ideas, and debate issues
Volunteer and engage in fundraising
Have fun!
For more information visit www.leave.eu

---

OTHER WAYS TO HELP...
If organising a group is not for you, then there are many other ways in which you can get involved, just let us know what floats your boat!

We also need help with:
Leaflet drops in your area
Leave.eu fun runs and walks
Leave vs Stay debates in Universities/Schools
Local Leave.eu discussions e.g. Host a coffee morning, dinner, BBQ or pub quiz
Leave.eu campaign mass gatherings
Your time and effort matters to us, so every little bit helps with our campaign!

I got one of these but can't see me hosting a coffee morning to be honest.

Neither can I, however I think it does a better job at appealing than most of the stuff you see from political parties. Some may be moved in to action, I am happy to leaflet and I'm open to assisting others with other things perhaps. I would happily leaflet for UKIP, but they never asked.

here's a start on the 'out' list. No politicians.

Jeff Immelt, Chief Exec of GE – ‘Britain’s Place in the EU does not matter’

Antonio Simoes, Chief Excec HSBC UK – Brexit would make no difference to bank’s plans

Tim Tozer, MD Vauxhall – EU referendum a “good thing”, Brexit “ won’t affect the way we invest in this country and run our business in it”

Sir Rocco Forte, British Hotelier – Brexit “wouldn’t make the slightest bit of difference”. European project ”a complete disaster”.

Sir James Dyson, Inventor – the EU “dominated and bullied by the Germans”

Lord Bamford, Boss of JCB – "no fear leaving the EU" "negotiate as our country rather than being one of 28 nations".

Nigel Wilson, Chief Excec, L&G - "My personal view is the EU has simply got too big now and it's very difficult to work with." "I'd like to see us turn outward more towards the world,"

Jim Mellon, entrepreneur (Britain's Warren Buffett) - “I believe that as a result there is going to be a cataclysmic implosion of the eurozone at some time in the next five, 10 or 15 years

Joe Foster, founder of Reebok - "We have sent billions to the EU each year and got little in return."

I really do struggle with your logic, why can there not be different groups causing different problems?

The latter half of his sentence was, I believe, countering the "free movement of labour" comment. ie people had been coming here for work quite happily before the EU existed.

The first half of the sentence was noting that the free movement of labour had morphed into the free movement of benefits claimants.

Whether most of those now coming in from the poorer parts of the EU are all claiming benefits I know not. To be honest, I don't trust any govt (of any colour) statistics and seriously doubt whether they have accurate data to prove it either way.

Not being in a position to control one's borders fully though IS a problem, as the last few weeks make all too clear. And with a couple of million unemployed, the logical thing to me would be to get a large proportion of those working before welcoming new people into the mix.

Try low paid jobs taken by migrants who then have their wages topped up by the benefit system.

Always amazed me a Big Issue seller is classed as a self employed business owner.

This is true sadly. I read Richard Norths blog daily and there is no doubt he knows his stuff and his analysis is usually spot on. It's a shame he has made himself persona non grata with his style however.
Reminded of this post reading his latest blog this morning. He's having a moan about the disjointed nature of the Out campaign and the fighting between Elliott and Banks, and complains of the nature of the spiteful attacks.

Then immediately does the same himself, openly abusing others of being lightweight as a sop to his hurt feelings that he doesn't get invited by the media to comment and be a talking head on the box. Then when someone in the comments mentioned that they attended a meeting where Hannan spoke and was well received, North's response is not much more than one that he thinks Hannan is an arse.

Poor form frankly.

Having said that his basic point that the fractious infighting doesn't help and the real enemy on this is Cameron is absolute on the money.
