perhaps they are all recent ph members i recruited (using proceeds from the 13.2p insults) to vote specially to make phers look like they have a thing about immigration?
No enhanced weekend rates? I'd go on strike if I were you.........Monday is a Bank holiday so must be worth 26.4p at least.

And as usual BBC misses the proper story, as covered on here earlier. This abolition of roaming charges is despite the EU not because of the EU. They stalled for ages and have finally been forced to implement under WTO regulations. Earlier posts provide the details and supporting links.

A basic google reveals he didn't say the alledged quote at all. Some old school brexiteer of yesteryear implied he said it to spin the whole thing. "Paraphrase of a characterisation" - spin doesn't get much more tenuous than that - unless you have your blinkers on of course.
apologies, i genuinely missed that .i think if you read what can be attributed to monnet you would have to have your blinkers on not to admit the paraphrasing was fairly accurate smile

Cool, does that mean roaming charges have been abolished outside the EU too?

They would be great, but sadly its just not true, is it?

It is not trolling when a post in here showed around 75% of ph brexiters would put doing something about immigration above single market access.
I have to say that I thought you'd plucked that number out of thin air.

ETA just seen your post above, PH is not representative of the wider population, but...

Edited by Bill on Saturday 30th April 10:57
i don't think that the result of that poll implies quite what he thinks it does wink. how do you get 75% have immigration as their main issue from those particular questions ? interesting composition to the questions as well, almost as if they were designed to be ambiguous.

Still won't work yet, not yet with wifi. If you want to debate a killer point, just try and make it if its that good? or wait until wifi prob on monday.

I see UKIP tried to block the EU attempt to abolish roaming charges. Their argument was that cheaper calls across the EU might make calls for those in the UK who never go abroad might go up. Insular, much?

You mean like India in 2013 committing to removing roaming charges. African countries followed, alongside Latin America. ASEAN members are set to do likewise. In the United States and the Caribbean, things are also moving in the right direction. That doesn't mean they are already cancelled everywhere else, YET. That claim is just another of your strawmen. Tiresome.

EU taking credit for something that's happening anyway. OECD invoked WTO provisions, particularly section 5(a) of the Annex on Telecommunications.

So it's the way the world is going, no thanks to the EU. Fact. You like facts, except when they're an inconvenient truth for your EU love, when you ignore them.

I am not going to type out something that you could watch in a couple of minutes.

It appears your "roaming account" is crap then. Why don't you use some of your data and watch the video via 4G.

No wifi... rolleyes

If you read my post, you will see that I didn't claim that the words were from Monnet.

I made that mistake a few weeks ago, and I retracted as soon as I did a little Googling.

The words, IMHO, accurately represent what has been happening. It doesn't matter who authored them.

Whilst I have great sympathy with your point of view, it appears that the Government believe it's of significance spending a part of that 9.3 million pounds to make the claim. Seeing as the claim is invalid it's worth debunking imo.

But yes in principle I agree, it's of no significance compared to the base question around the decision. Unfortunately it seems to be a trend as it diverts attention from the one killer argument over which the Remainders know they'll lose hands down, actually have lost hands down if truth be told, which they won't.

It's beginning to look like I was correct when I said that he wouldn't watch the video.

I cannot imagine the scenario where you can post on PH, but you cannot watch a video.
