Why did the shearers report him?
Looks like it was actually because of the physical abuse that was being inflicted on the animals. The report plays that down to get the stupid/sensationalist bit to the forefront. Hideous behaviour by the press when the cruelty to the animals should have been the focus.Ace-T said:

But PETA took its proceedings very seriously – and even said it wasn't just language that had been an issue, but also included stomping and punching the sheep, the Newcastle Herald notes.
"If foul language were the worst that sheep in Australian shearing sheds had to endure, then no complaint would have been filed," a spokeswoman said.
Not so funny when you realise he was stomping and punching the animals..."If foul language were the worst that sheep in Australian shearing sheds had to endure, then no complaint would have been filed," a spokeswoman said.

Yep. It was just a small part of a report that detailed unnecessary violence and cruelty. Pretty sad that the media are just running with the language part.
But, it fits in with the LOL PETA angle so I guess it sells papers, giving the people what they want.
People don't want to think about what animals go through to become clothing or food. So just single out one small angle in a report condemning wider mistreatment and ignore everything else.
