BBC said:
A jogger who was knocked down by a cyclist on a Livingston footpath has died.

Peter Craig, 49, sustained a head injury following the incident at about 09:00 on Saturday on the Loan Footpath, at its junction with Fergus Avenue.

He was taken to the Western General but later died.

Police Scotland are trying to trace the cyclist, who did not swap details with the jogger at the time.
I really hope they catch the furiousfuriousfurious

Oh crap, here we go again.

Very sad story and I really hope the idiots on here do not try and defend the moron in lycra like they did on other posts.

How do you know the bloke didn't get up and walk on?

If it wasn't about such a bloody tragic accident this thread could become addictive and amusing reading.

I hope they catch the turd on the bike who must surely have been aware of the damage [s]he had done. Thankfully such accidents with cycles are rare enough to merit a thread of their own, long may that continue.

Indeed we do, starting with your own post. What has his or her clothing got to do with it.

So stupid to speculate about anything yet, We know nothing about the circumstances or aftermath of the accident.

I am not here to defend cyclists, just would prefer we wait for some facts before getting the pitchforks and torches again.

Seems be being reported a lot more frequently at the moment - is that because more accidents are occurring, or simply because they are now actually being reported?

R4 had a phone in on cycling earlier today.

"Call You and Yours: Do you think it's time to ask cyclists to take a test before they're allowed on the roads?"

Is this the bit where someone chips in "but cyclists are killed everyday by motorists and it never gets reported".

Cycling is probably more popular now, than it has been for decades.

I've had some bloke verbally abuse me on a zebra crossing in London because I stopped him getting King of the Hill (or whatever it is)...

Like anything though, it only takes a few idiots to ruin it for everyone.

You don't think you should be able to run on a footpath?

Do kids not do cycling proficiency at school any more?

Well we KNOW it was on a footpath and we KNOW the pedestrian is dead!

Nah, they troop them all outside to wave speedguns at cars instead.

Are cyclists the new Muslims on PH?

As a moderate cyclist I'd like to condemn the actions of this cyclist. #notinmyname
