I remember listening to one MP defending the expenses rip off by him and other MPs and thinking to myself that they just don't get it.

More proof, if indeed it was ever needed.

What is the point of having a vote when we just get the same every time.

No, they don't get it. Nor do they care really. For the majority it appears the main aim in life is to fill their snouts in the trough then get a nice cushy job in the long term, further feathering their own nests, generally at the expense of the people they were meant to serve.

Well folk had a chance to do something different and they didnt.
Why should we be surprised?
This. While people "keep a hold of nurse for fear of finding something worse", nothing will change.

That's the link I meant to include. Thanks for that.

I've had a hell of a day. My email address has been subject to an attack of some sorts and I've had to work for hours with BT to sort it. And then I read about dishonesty again.

I remember some MP suggesting that the low approval rating of the police, then running at around 2/3rds, was a disgrace. MPs came bottom, below journalists, bankers and estate agents. They raked up <15%.
