I hope that at least one of the FIFA delegates tries to get out of being arrested by rolling around on the floor grabbing his knee.

Superb piece in today's Telegraph which doesn't pull any punches...to put it mildly.

hehe

Uruguay’s Eugenio Figueredo stands accused, in his US naturalisation application in 2005, of falsely affirming under penalty of perjury that he was exempt from the required English language and civics exams because of a mental disability, falsely claiming that he had severe dementia. And this was a man of sound enough mind to be given the Fifa vice-presidency.

Feds 7 : FIFA 0 - HT

Usually when you stick the news on it leaves you feeling a bit - grumpy

But the FBI have changed all that! Now I can't wait to put it on - woohoo

It's probably the funniest thing that's been on TV since Ed Balls lost his seat in the general election. loser

Chuck Blazer is supposed to have run up a $25mil bill on his FIFA Amex card....I wonder who was checking his expenses.

Sepp clearly didn't employ a very good accountancy team.

I honestly think if it hadn't been for the Russian and especially Qatar decisions they could have kept a lid on it. Once that happened it just became too obvious and that something very, very bad was going on behind the scenes. If the South African's paid the Warner and his cronies $10mil for their relatively small number votes for 2010 fk knows how much went to all the other federations and you can probably multiply that several times by the time it got to Qatar dealing out the dosh.

The press release from the DoJ is just delightful.

The Convicted Individuals and Corporations

The following individuals and corporations previously pleaded guilty under seal:

On July 15, 2013, the defendant Daryll Warner, son of defendant Jack Warner and a former FIFA development officer, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a two-count information charging him with wire fraud and the structuring of financial transactions.

On Oct. 25, 2013, the defendant Daryan Warner waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a three-count information charging him with wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and the structuring of financial transactions. Daryan Warner forfeited over $1.1 million around the time of his plea and has agreed to pay a second forfeiture money judgment at the time of sentencing.

On Nov. 25, 2013, the defendant Charles Blazer, the former CONCACAF general secretary and a former FIFA executive committee member, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a 10-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, income tax evasion and failure to file a Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR). Blazer forfeited over $1.9 million at the time of his plea and has agreed to pay a second amount to be determined at the time of sentencing.

On Dec. 12, 2014, the defendant José Hawilla, the owner and founder of the Traffic Group, the Brazilian sports marketing conglomerate, waived indictment and pleaded guilty to a four-count information charging him with racketeering conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and obstruction of justice. Hawilla also agreed to forfeit over $151 million, $25 million of which was paid at the time of his plea.

"under seal".... does this mean "all done in secret, so as to not alert others" or something?

I think Splatter is preparing to step down.

His press chappy said he was 'relaxed' the other day, but the fact that one of the most brazen presidents that ever walked hasn't shown up for an actual FIFA conference this morning, is quite telling.

He's probably in discussions with FIFA top brass and his lawyer, trying to negotiate a nice little leaving package before the Feds come knocking.

Batting off suspicious questions from the press is one thing, but when you have to answer to the FBI, with all the electronic investigative technology at their disposal, its a different ball game.

Even Putin's rattled. He's just gave a TV rant, sorry, interview blaming the US and it's 'self interested aims', and reaffirmed his support for Blatter.

Something to hide Mr.P..? Just askin.

Interesting that just about everywhere this story is being reported is being backed by lots of people saying how its all about time, and how wonderful that someone has finally caught up with the slimy gits. FBI appear to have won themselves an entire planet of supporters.

Where are the European law enforcement agencies in this? The cynic in me knows but would prefer to actually know than suspect.

Any idea where Blatter currently is? Not making friends with a bloke called Snowden, is he?

Shame he's unlikely to be extraordinarily renditioned via Prestwick international airport.

Its the sponsors who will drive the results in all this, who will disengage first, one wonders?

I'd imagine if one pulls support, the rest will follow. Visa, Adidas, Coca Cola, etc etc.

World Cup looking to become a tarnished brand. (if it already wasn't)
