Its the sponsors who will drive the results in all this, who will disengage first, one wonders?
I'd imagine if one pulls support, the rest will follow. Visa, Adidas, Coca Cola, etc etc.
World Cup looking to become a tarnished brand. (if it already wasn't)
No more tarnished than any of those sponsors. I'd imagine if one pulls support, the rest will follow. Visa, Adidas, Coca Cola, etc etc.

Look at the history of corruption in FIFA and the murky waters around Horst Dassler and Joao Havelange......

Other than European teams being excluded from the World Cup, what would ultimately happen if UEFA disengaged from FIFA completely?
I think that's what UEFA should do tbh. Just pull out and force widespread reorganisation of the game, and if that's FIFA disbanding and another federation being set up in it's place then so be it.In the short term they could just stage another European championship if needs be., however I imagine it would all get very expensive with commercial deals, lawyers etc.
UEFA should pull out of FIFA until such times as Blatter and the whole corrupt mess that is FIFA is disbanded and new leadership team put in place. The very fact that Putin has backed Blatter for another term tells you everything you need to know about the guy and the st that he and his disgusting cronies are involved in. No UEFA no World Cup, without the european teams the whole thing would become a joke and sponsors and TV rights would go down the pan

They have been making statements they were reported on SKY there were several veiled threats in there, it appeared to me, now given those statements were crafted by their PR departments I would suppose the private dialogue would have been far more abrasive.
Visa and Coca Cola seemed particularly forthright in their pronouncements.
Forthright!!! they've just said they are unhappy, etc. Not called for anyone to step down, new management, etc, etc. Slightly different scale but as an example look how quickly they dropped Lance Armstrong when he became tainted.Visa and Coca Cola seemed particularly forthright in their pronouncements.

Won't happen, would need all euro FA's to agree, guess what, Russia is a remember. wolves_wanderer said:

Blatter said it was already too late, and that the FIFA congress was going to meet as arranged.
In other words, he just wants to get to Friday's vote, be reelected, and be able to say to everybody that democracy has taken its course.
I think the word for this psychological phenomenon is 'delusion'.

My guess is that it's too lucrative long term and if they pull out now FIFA have long memories.
