After Blatter was re-elected, Coca-Cola said FIFA must now "seize the opportunity to begin winning back the trust it has lost".

In other words, Coca Cola, will not rock the boat.

I wonder whether the FBI will find any evidence that Coke's money was knowingly used to pay bribes - in which case they could go after Coke too.

Hmmm, how does that work? "We'll sponsor you but you mustn't tell anyone who we are......."

Naming them will likely ruin another part of the investigation that they don't want to make public yet.

The rumour is that it's Nike, and that it relates to their sponsorship of the Brazilian national team.

Blatter has to cling on like a 3rd world despot; He knows that if leaves FIFA, he's dead meat. Without FIFA's money he'd never be able to afford the top lawyers that can tie the FBI in knots for years.

There's a close correlation between the countries that voted for him and endemic corruption. For them it's normal. They'll be doing the same with their local FA and they don't see anything wrong with Blatter and co taking their share either.

They will if people start saying things on "social media" that tarnishes their image.

The DOJ and FBI won't let this go, their investigations are only just getting going. Now they have their teeth sunk in FIFA won't get away. U.S. Law enforcement is not to be trifled with.

1. I was kinda joking given their major markets have no choice of supply.

2 they're Russian Govt backed - I don't think PR features that heavily in their minds.

The voting shows that most of the FIFA delegates are honest politicians.

Just watched the Blatter press meeting. The feckin arrogance of the guy... ALL questions were about why he's still there as it's usualy that the boss of a tainted organisation steps down. Answers? Not me, not on my watch, dont know, can't answer because its subjudice.....
Time for the sport to throw this bent soccer "politician" on the rubbish heap before the FBI nail him....
Until he's gone there can be no clean out and no confidence in a "clean" game.
