From my point of view all extremist religeous nutters are unwelcome here, whether they are are Muslims, Jews of Christians they can respectively fk off to Syria/Israel/Texas if they want to practise and spread their mental illness.
Crazy, the lot of 'em. I know people who go to church and all that, but none of them are fanatics that believe in god and stuff. Imagine if the women drivers were delivering cakes to the school marked "Support Gay Marriage"?
I'm trying to work out what part of the Talmud/Old Testament clearly states that women shouldn't drive. I presume they were referring to chariots.
No wonder Boudica was a persona non gratis in ancient times.

This is why the CofE is the best church. The Archbishop Of Canterbury doesn't even pretend to believe in the literal truth of the Bible and you kind of know that after a few pints of beer he'd admit that he's not even sure if he believes in God and he only took the job for the hat.rohrl said:

FTFYThis lot are stated in the article to be Belz, who I personally detest
For the uninitiated, Hassidic is the general terms that covers lots of different sects of ultra observant orthodox jews. One such sect is Belz. Each has their own leader and their own interpretation of certain laws. Each sect even has slightly different hats, so for instance the Satmar are the ones with the very wide fur hats
Lubavitch are at one extreme, providing huge support to anyone that needs it, regardless of levels of observance, including the poor, the unwell, the elderly, etc. A typical Friday night at a Lubavitch house will see lots of guests welcomed from every walk of life, with no ulterior motive. The Belz on the other hand are incredibly insular, looking only to take, not to give back. To me that completely contradicts the basic essence of what a religious person should be about, so I have no sympathy with them whatsoever - what's the point in keeping all these ludicrous rules if you lose sight of the most important thing, which is to treat your fellow man as you hope to be treated in return.

But a statement issued on behalf of women in the sect by a local Belz women’s organisation said . . . “We do, however, understand that there are many who conduct lifestyles that are different to ours, and we do not, in any way, disrespect them or the decisions they make.”
Actually, IMHO, that sounds like a recipie for a harmonious society.Octoposse said:

Shouldn't we all be going nuts.
Shouldn't the media hype be front page news.
Oh wait they're Jewish, not Muslim.
Now I understand.
Back again are we? Seen anyone about your condition? Shouldn't the media hype be front page news.

Now I understand.
Let's remind ourselves what you've previously said about Jewish people

I actually agree with the nutters
But they don't go far enough for me, women AND men should be banned from driving kids to school
Most primary school catchments are walkable, most secondary schools are on bus routes
Cheers
The drive to and from work this week has been great, straight through with no problems, traffic not fast as it's London but still it's been flowing - I wondered what was going on. Then my missus told me it was half term and it would soon be back to crawling traffic as the parents block the roads again, dropping their obese offspring off at school But they don't go far enough for me, women AND men should be banned from driving kids to school

What's the point of having freedom of religion if people are not allowed to live by their beliefs?
As far as I can tell they're not going around harassing any woman driving a car, and people are free to leave this community, with the protection of the law. They're simply setting their own standards for their members.
