In the interests of sharing knowledge and improving the roads for everyone could you let me know what my responsibilities are when being overtaken on my bike?
Fling your bike and self into the ditch and worship the mighty godlike being in his Ford Vectra 1.3 SLX!

Or does he mean ride so close to the curb/verge that you come off your bike when you hit the curb, pothole, drain cover etc. and he then runs over your head?

Guy is an absolute nutter to be sure and should face prosecution for that behaviour.

But on a side note - it was interesting to see that the majority of cyclists on that road weren't using the cycle lane. It does question the value of putting infrastructure in place specifically to cater for cyclists if that infrastructure isn't going to get used.

Rightly or wrongly I don't imagine many cyclists will be eating here for a while.

Curious, isn't it.

The cycle path in the video doesn't get a very flattering write-up in the road.cc link posted earlier.

Both s IMO. No need for any of that but with the mentality of both sides these days, it's no surprise..........

If you don't know, maybe you should give cycling a miss.

However if you do want to keep yourself alive, try reading this.

Maybe you should give trying to patronise people on forums a miss.

Well hang on a minute, why should I trust some numpty in the council with my own personal safety? Just because someone has splashed some paint around doesn't mean that if I cycle there all will be well with the world. The main reason for getting the paint out seems to be so that councils can claim to be green with "X-miles of cycle paths"
This is one of many in the UK, I would not cycle here because it is lethal:

On another note, cyclists have just as much right to use the road as anyone else. Just because you're in a tin box doesn't mean you are a superior being.

The same drivers will complain about being stuck in traffic. Erm, no, you are traffic.

I take it you know how to pass a cyclist correctly...

Yes, what do you do when they are riding 2 abreast?
Hope they have the decency (as myself and mates do) to drop to single file when there are cars coming up.

It's all about not being a dick, really. So simple, so lost on so many these days. Too many people are so obsessed with the fact they can, they never stop to think if they SHOULD.

I thought he was quite restrained really, most of these type of videos end up with the cyclists legs sticking out of the bushes. Always seems to be a cockney though.

Yes, except my post was prompted about 2 abreast riders on "A" roads. Narrow ones, at that.

The B road scenario has been dropped in from elsewhere.

Quite entertaining, it's like a live performance of a cycling thread in General Gassing.

Knobs like that should have their licences revoked, anybody who can't control their temper should not be allowed on the roads in charge of anything.

I drive that road all the time. On Saturday mornings, with all the cyclists heading to Richmond Park, it's a de facto 20 mph limit in the car driving up Priory Lane. The road is narrow and there is not enough room to pass a cyclist unless the other opposite lane is free, which is usually isn't.

Motorists just need to deal with it, as they would any other situation.

How on earth is someone who is thick as st and has anger issues, uses his car as a weapon, allowed to drive? It's incredible.

I'm in Amsterdam at the moment. What would British drivers do, if they actually had any number of cyclists to deal with? There are kids cycling everywhere, there really isn't that much segregation at all in the city, yet drivers cope just fine.

The British driver. An excellent safety record yet can't cope with any sort of challenge whatsoever. They're the worst in the world in so many ways, and I'll *never* drive like these fkwits. The day I can't cope with a cyclist is the day you can ban me.
