The tube carries around 3m people per day. The percentage of perverts amongst that 3m is what? From what I can make out, some people on this thread imagine it's higher than 1%.

Those people should really stop reading Jessica Valenti.

Well I would guess that you read this - http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/video-shows-f...

A TFL report said that 10% of Londoners have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour on the Tube but less than ten per cent of victims reported the incident to police.

So the Police & TFL believe it is higher than 1%, what facts do you have to support your claim they are wrong?

No, I hadn't read that. If anything you only help to underline my point. Note: 10% of Londoners have experienced unwanted sexual behaviour. Surely I don't need to point out that this is not a per day statistic...

There are 3m using the tube per day.

Last year there was a little over 1,000 sex offence cases register by the BTP.

There are 3m using the tube per day.

There is clearly no way of knowing how many sex offences were not reported.

There are 3m using the tube per day.

Mind your step.

There are 60M people living in the UK and 23,663 recorded sexual offences against children 2013, that's only 0.0004% - that so low why should we care about that, chances of it happening to me & mine are so remote why should we waste money on it. I don't have kids - why should I care.

Do my comments make you angry, well that's how I feel when you just dismiss these things as it's too low to bother about.

How did we get from 'manspreading' to shooting your muck up a girls back?

That alone is a symptom of people getting a tad carried away here.

No doubt for saying that, I'm no better than a rapist rolleyes

Must every thread in np&e turn into a parade of strawmen? Feel free to be as outraged as you like about something you yourself have highlighted to be statistically irrelevant. I'll continue to give it the requisite concern I've afforded it, based on the data available. Clearly this makes me a heartless bd etc. la-la-la.

Man spreading is annoying however most men don't want to touch legs with another man.

In terms of inappropriate touching never seems or heard of it where I work but probably happens to a small percentage (which is unacceptable).

Train seats are narrow, please don't manspread your legs against mine. I manage to keep to my 'area' redface

The question that has to be asked is, why did no-one in the immediate vicinity not notice any frantic shuffling prior to him climaxing? I know from relatively recent personal experience just how crowded it gets.....but seriously no-one noticed?

Tell that to the weirdo sat next to me now - he's been touching my leg for the last 3 stops!

Some of the worst offenders are the drunk suits on the Friday evening trains out of Euston. Sweaty, pissed, pasty in one hand, can of M&S beer in the other and a full on manspread furious

Student pours bleach and water on men’s crotches to stop them manspreading.

Presumably just a stunt despite the denial, but still...

When will there be a crackdown on guntspreading? Noticed a lot of “curvy” women struggling to keep their knees together.
