Amber Peat's Parents: We just want you home.
Discussion
If anybody has the 'good' fortune to spend any time with a forensic psychologist, it is possible to hear some dreadful stories and jump to conclusions.
There are an amazing amount of similarities when these 'type' of cases arise. Not all, but enough to be harrowing. Over a beer in Shepherds Market, Mayfair, one such mate explained in perfect clarity what he believed had happened in a very high profile case even down to the excuses that the real murderer came out with. This was around 2 weeks before it all came out....
Horrifying stuff!
Then you have cases such as Chris Jefferies which seem to satisfy the baying mob in seconds? Only to be proved rather inaccurate?
Awful stuff but I am sure we will find out the truth in time - yes, I know that isn't what the Internet is for - wild and frantic speculation is the law

Poor little girl. This makes me very sad. All of her life ahead of her, her parents' hopes and dreams for her shattered, and whatever it was that she had to go through in the end, just awful.
Whether natural causes or otherwise, she had to endure that alone with nobody to help her and must have been so frightened. I hate to think about that, but every time something like this happens, it is the first thing in my mind. If you have ever seen your child truly frightened about something, you will know exactly what I mean. That look in their eyes as you try to set about fixing whatever it was...
So, so sad. RIP little one.

Used to work with the mums brother, very very sad situation. The amount of people involved in searching for the poor girl was incredible, which makes where they found her puzzling. Fairly busy road in a reasonably exposed location, that had apparently already been searched.

The area where the body has been found is really odd though.
Police have also confirmed the area had already been searched?
Odd.
Meaning possibly that she was still alive and elsewhere when the area was searched . As speculated sleeping out with inadequate clothing can soon lead to hypothermia, there's also the other obvious option. Teenage minds can be strange things, we ave all had them at some time. Police have also confirmed the area had already been searched?
Odd.

That is really strange, its not even remotely secluded or hidden. How could they have possibly missed a body when searching that??Video below:

I'd like to think there's nothing dodgy and I hope there isn't. But. It just seems odd.
Also, for a 13yo she's pretty small, if that's a recent picture, I'd say she looked about 9/10yo. Maybe there were bullying problems at school or as we've not heard from dad she had an online relationship with an older boy/man.
It's also strange she left her phone behind. 13yo are permanently connected to them but an adult wouldn't think about talking a phone with them....

Sleeping out overnight could quickly lead to hypothermia especially if you are of slight build as that young girl appeared to be.
Does make you wonder what was going on at home if sleeping out for three nights was the better option.Who knows what this kids family life was like - it may have been st, many are (I know from experience). But she may also have come from a loving family who are totally undeserving of the aspersions or implications being cast against them.

Apparently she was not allowed a phone. At 13. Also banned from using social media sites. Also, for a 13yo she's pretty small, if that's a recent picture, I'd say she looked about 9/10yo. Yeh - because a teenager doing something completely illogical or unreasonable without any provocation is totally unprecedented isn't it.

She looks unhappy and guarded in all the photos I have seen.Who knows what this kids family life was like - it may have been st, many are (I know from experience). But she may also have come from a loving family who are totally undeserving of the aspersions or implications being cast against them.
That is all I'm saying.

How many have you seen? Putting her name into google image search only seems to bring back 3 unique photos. She is smiling in one of them and the other two where she looks "unhappy" seem to have been taken around the same time looking at her clothes and backdrop. Perhaps she just had a strop on at that moment.Moonhawk said:
It may be fairly obvious from her injuries that her death was accidental or self inflicted.
"not being treated as suspicious" may be a PC way of saying "we aren't looking for a murderer".
Would the police ever make that statement to make a potential suspect relax and slip up?"not being treated as suspicious" may be a PC way of saying "we aren't looking for a murderer".
Don't know if they would or ever have. Just thinking out loud (via PH)...

No idea - I haven't heard of many cases where that statement has been made but have ultimately ended up being a murder case. If anything i'd say the reverse is probably more likely - i.e. the death is being treated as suspicious - but after investigation it becomes apparent it was down to misadevnture or something else. It must happen of course, but I doubt the police would routinely use it as a tactic if they thought there was foul play from the outset.

Press conferences are also a way to see how a potential suspect behaves.
I'm not surprised that many are jumping to conclusions; myself included, as these scenario's tend to have a habit of ending up only one way, if I am proved wrong though, I will be happy to admit it.
