Maybe there were bullying problems at school or as we've not heard from dad she had an online relationship with an older boy/man.
What?
Any kid who doesn't have a dad in their life will be effected by it their whole adult life. Girls are more vulnerable and seek that father figure they never had. I should know, most of my ex girlfriends were like that!

Hey. I'm just speculating like everyone else!

I think it's the speculation that I find so deeply distasteful.

Here's an idea. Got a baseless theory? Keep it to your bloody self...

Personally I think it is quite a dangerous game to play in this instance - speculating?

I have been slightly guilty of it but then made sure that I remain on the 'correct' side.

We should all remember quite what has happened here and not lose sight of that fact.

What and how we arrived at this point with a young innocent girl dead is another matter entirely and should be treated and discussed with more empathy and consideration in my opinion.

Remember the Jefferies case!!!!!

PH are probably on thin ice allowing the thread to continue and should keep an eye on it most likely?

Nothing wrong with speculation, as long it is made clear, it is that, speculation and not pretending to be fact.

As an aside, more to the point in fact, its been reported that since she walked out, people , several people, have walked their dogs past where she was found. Imagery supposedly close to where she was found shows thick hedgerow.

Now, any dog owner will tell you, that the average mutt on smelling anything different will want to investigate. No mention of such. So, being as the area had been searched before , and pet dogs had not detected anything, had she not been there from day one , and if not, where had she been?

Where had she been, unsighted?

Perhaps they weren't trained in cadaver detection?

You're saying there's nothing wrong with speculation, even when it puts her poor parents in the frame for murder?

You're a disgrace.

It's a general fact based theory. I'm not casting any aspersions on the family just stating what young girls react to when growing up.

Get off your high horse.

People always trot this out like it's some all winning Top Trump. What about Becky Watts? Or Mikaeel Kular? Or Tia Sharpe? Or the Philpott kids?

And those are just the ones killed by family members since the Jefferies case.

Really? Bit thin skinned are we not? I did say "pet dogs" .My Terrier was at anything remotely different, first class snout, and inquiring nature.

If you are trying to say that her parents are not on Police radar from the outset, then, you are spectacularly naive . I will say though, that I for one have not speculated upon their involvment or metioned them at all. (untill this post of course)

Fact is, untill more release are made, then its an open book, distatsteful as some of the options may seem.

It's revolting watching some of you lot try and win at 'Detectives'.

Well it is IMO. It shows just how damaging wild speculation can be - especially when directed at a person, despite there being absolutely no evidence of their involvement.

Jefferies character was destroyed in the media and online - and by the sounds of it - people had already started digging for and dishing dirt on the step father in this case. Had her body remained undetected for a while longer - you can bet the speculation and dirt dishing would have got much worse.

Automatically assuming the parents/family are lying and must have had something to do with it is wrong. No innocent family should have to deal with that on top of the tragedy of losing a child.

Very sad story for the girl and her parents.

Some of the contributions to this thread are dreadful with totally unfounded speculation presented as insight into a situation they had no contact with at all.

That's tragic, I genuinely feel sad that a 13 year old would wish to hang themselves.

That increases the curiousity somewhat, that nobody saw her...perhaps she hid for a couple of days and then decided it was the only option frown
