Gay Marriage Legal in the US
Discussion
Supreme Court just ruled. I think most States allowed it anyway, but now that'll be extended nationwide

Fantastic news
Surprising that 'the world leader' has taken so long to sort out something like this.
Maybe Saudi Arabia will be next to acknowledge gay marriage
You clearly don't understand American politics. Obama controls neither house nor senate, he couldn't get a bill through saying that puppy dogs are nice right now because of the rabid nutjobs that oppose him. This was always a States issue anyway until it ended up in the SCOTUS.Surprising that 'the world leader' has taken so long to sort out something like this.

The FOX caption above is hilarious. I think the right are finally starting to wake up to the fact that their electoral base of old white men is dying off rapidly and their influence is diminishing as fast. They've had 2 big defeats this week on issues that seem like common sense to most people but are hugely significant to them and the opposition to the confederate flag has spread like wildfire.
Some wacko at an airport tried to hide a bomb in his shoes. Now everyone has to take their shoes off at security
Thousands of people shoot tens of thousands of each year. Nothing happens. ( Apart from the NRA saying... if only there were more guns.... it would be safer )
America really is a very odd country.

The shoes off is a global rule, not an American one. The past few times I have flown in the USA I have not had to take my shoes off.Thousands of people shoot tens of thousands of each year. Nothing happens. ( Apart from the NRA saying... if only there were more guns.... it would be safer )

The best thing is ignorant hicks saying they will to Canada as a result. Unaware that gay marriage has been legal there for 10 years.
In fairness it probably is the only other country they know the name of.
Nah, they've heard of Mexico. The Donald has told em that Mexico is shipping all their rapists and thieves to 'merica. In fairness it probably is the only other country they know the name of.

Occasionally an airport will run an 'everyone's shoes off' session, but it's not so common these days.
There are random checks of course, where they'll select a few people to put their shoes through an additional scanner.
