Why are people trying to draw parallels with the Somali pirate issue? That's like comparing a bad back with cancer.
because it has the same political parallels.

years of political waffle and hand wringing, only to have to be sorted by private mercs.
So nothing to do with people trafficking, immigration, Europe, the Royal Navy or the Med? You're right, the similarities are startling.

eh?

think you missed my point.

How is anything we are going in the med now helping the problem?

same as all the naval stuff off the coast of somalia, (way too big an area to cover the problem).

Look, if we carry on like this, you can see a new contract opportunity for G4S in Calais

Posters on here have been calling for the RN to patrol the Med while claiming parallels with Somalia. What point am I supposed to have missed exactly?

and yet another brain-dead response form our resident hand-wringer!

No, I want the GOVERMENT to step up to the plate and police our borders properly.

I want them to send clear, unambiguous messages out saying NO, YOU'RE NOT GETTING INTO THE UK, along with clear coverage of the ones that have got here being deported.

is that too much to ask?

or do we have to look at pictures like this for ever more?

I think he just wants to government to grow some balls and do something about it, rather than just meaningless waffle. Much like your arguments.

and do what exactly?

rescue more migrants and bring them here?

what little RN we have left is never going to solve the problem is it?

Because your argument contains such a clear and concise plan...

That's quite a common view and one that I support too.

It's totally different to shooting migrants and shelling the st out of refugees though. Unless by 'properly' you mean 'like complete s'?

Who do you think does most of the searching in Calais already, I'll give you a hint, they're not public servants.

What if the boat was full of white female refugees, would you want them shelled too?

Are they fit?

Why didn't I think of this before?

Rheas, loads of bloody rheas. Let them run loose and shag the illegals rigid.

They'll not come back.

I reckon, plan's a good 'un....smile

Brilliant.
yes, another cracking post from Greg!

if you want parallels, look at the pirate issue, we pissed about for a couple of years whilst hundreds of ships got taken, millions paid out, many lives lost to what happens now, with basically private mercenaries on commercial shipping shooting back at said pirates.

Suffice to say, the problem is somewhat more contained now! (no protected vessel has been taken).

Yes, I am sure your going to say what about the poor pirates who get shot?

Look, unless you take a direct, clear, unequivocal stand and back it up with actions, the problem is not going to go away.
Newsflash: doing absolutely fk nothing all day long for years on end is roughly one billion times better than trying out any of your idiotic ideas.

It would take more than a 9ft to get me in.
I only go there to get to the Nurburg Ring and take the shortest rout possible from Dunkirk.

So gun boats not an option no one liked my naval mines option and we are stuck with a useless fence.

I saw a show about a ship that sails the med looking for migrants and picks them up provides medical aid an brings them ashore. So if they can do that then private contractors could do same but drop them off in libiya etc....

Then tow empty boat out to sea an sink it for each such boat pay a.bonus etc.

No deaths no illigals and sadly no navel mines

That John Lewis towel you have is made by an Indian women for peanuts in 120* heat, who drinks the same water others have st in. Ditto your iPhone, some Poor Chinese has basically given up his life to provide you with trinkets. Work it out pedro, it might not be right but it's the way things are
