toohangry is cracking me up. Worryingly, I don't think he/she is joking.

From his/her first post to his/her last, it's all pure comedy.

Your disclaimer is a meaningless cloak that you're hoping allows you to hide behind your true thoughts. It doesn't wash with anyone I'm afraid, as we're all over the age of 7.

Excuse me, did you really just describe NOT shooting civilians and bombing refugees as righteous??!

Why do you have to go to ludicrous extremes, such as asking me to house people, to try and justify your insane rants? Let's still talk about your views, if that's ok, before moving onto mine as mine are pretty boring in comparison.

Some Qs:

How many would need to be shot before they got the message?

What if the boat was full of white female refugees, would you want them shelled too?

Who are you going to ask to kill these innocent civilians?
1) well, if you used pinewood or the like, nobody would actually get shot.

the point is here the message has to be hard, the reality does not need to match it.

2) see above, nobody actually get's shot.

3) same again.

Jesus, are you lot really that short on imagination?

like I said before, what is your solution?

It washes with me. It's pretty clear that what he said was an extreme logical conclusion of the idea that disincentives will discourage migrants. He wasn't saying that is what we should actually do.

Do you disagree with the idea of providing a disincentive?
It's pretty clear how he feels about people, regardless of whether he would actually pull the trigger.

Of course I don't disagree with providing a disincentive. As ever, there are more acceptable means that shooting and shelling civilians though. Lack of benefits and/or bigger restrictions on eligibility to work would probably do it.
You know those road safety adverts where some blokes brains get smashed onto the windscreen as he is driving without a seatbelt? They don't actually have to kill a man in a car crash to make that advert.

HTH.

We could send them a selection of your posts in this and other threads. Perhaps they might be put off at the prospect of coming to a place where an intolerant racist idiot lives.

On the other hand, they might conclude that if a prejudiced moron like you can make a living here, then anyone can, so it's time to head over here.

It's a difficult problem.

Oh I see! You're suggesting we start showing on Syrian and Romanian TV, pretend programmes showing that we shoot and shell civilians that try and get here illegally!

rofl Have I walked into an infant school or something?

What really needs to happen is the RN needs to patrol the Med stopping/turning back/sinking the boats bringing the people into Europe in the first place. Until people are stopped from making the crossing nothing can be done.

And we're back to genuinely slaughtering civilians.

Did I say kill anybody? No I didn't. Stop being a prat. The boats can and should be sunk to prevent the trade.

Hello, employee of a fencing manufacturer here. /Waves.

Anti-climb mesh is to do with gaps between the line and cross wires. You can't get fingers/toes in the gaps. Tops are normally electrified or concertina barbed to stop people going over the top. Not a great deal you can do against ladders though.

Its not designed to be fix and forget and should be used with other systems, such as perimeter detection and actual guards.

These panels can take an eye-watering level of punishment, part of the testing for ours involves firing numerous RPGs at it.

Interesting. In the pictures of the NBA in action, I can't see any signs of electrification or concertina wire and at only 9ft I don't know if the anti-climb mesh would do anything to stop me climbing over. Possibly it's deployment in France will include some of these additional features.

Er lets see, you stop the boat, something the RN routinely do, offload the passengers, sink the boat, repatriate the passengers. Not hard.

Apologies. In the context of this thread, you appeared to be setting out escalating alternative strategies (read back and you'll see what I mean).

If you mount a high horse best make sure that you are not being sexist or racist in your insinuations that the life of a white female is somehow more valuable than the life of a black male.

No prob. The point I guess I'm driving at is a barrier of any kind 1500 miles inside of European territory is utterly pointless. We intervened militarily in North Africa recently, and I think the only workable solution is to close the sea routes into Europe for the people traffickers, in the same way as the Somali pirates were finally tackled.

The RN routinely stop and search vessels on anti smuggling operations so they have the kit and the knowhow.

Don't be absurd with your allegations. I'm merely trying to make him think about the refugees being actual humans and not just amorphous dark objects that we can shell from a warship.

Repatriate them WHERE? The same goes for deporting them AFTER they have arrived. They aren't carrying Passports or ID. so where are you going to deport them too - back to France so they can try again?

We're an island FFS. Controlling our borders, who enters and who leaves should not be rocket science.

He's talking about patrolling the Med, not the Channel!

If our ships are say 10 miles off the coast of Tunisia ( where they are coming from ) I think it's fairly obvious where to repatriate them. And if every time it's done the boat carrying them is sent to the bottom the trade will soon stop anyway. The whole point is to them getting to France in the first place. You do realise I posted patrol the med or do you think I mean the English Channel?

How tall is the Glastonbury Superfence? That seems pretty effective, and is spare from now until next May.
