Cult of personality and a touch of oh look how marvellous this colourful woman is. She isn't male and stale, voters will lover her, bung her the money, despite years and years of mismanagement. Cameron's judgement proves lacking again.

This is going to get embarrassing for David Cameron, once again his poor personal judgement, particularly when it comes to assessing an individuals character, has been highlighted. Damage is also going to be done to plans for increasing the involvement of the charity sector in delivering public services.
Yes of course, it's all David Cameron's fault. rofl
Yes, it is apparently. A woman from the charity, not the flowery one, has just been on the BBC confirming that the 'Charity' is insolvent, it will close today and it's the Government's fault for not either giving them more money or putting the funds in place elsewhere to do whatever it is that they were doing.

Doesn't sound like there'll be much of the taxpayers £3M coming back.............

Iirc. Brown also did the same. However this is now and our benevolent leader or let's give him the benefit of the doubt some of his cabinet possibly with his direction did it again.

Awaiting all the lovies coming out of the woodwork blaming the Tories not that woman for her mismanagement

Of course had the Tories not paid the 3m they would have been slaughtered by the media, usual nasty party bks.

I suspect that most of the money has gone to pay for the many yards of exotic material required to make up those delightful flowing robes the fragrant Lady wears. smile
The question I always ask is "would I buy a secondhand car from this person" ?

Does Cameron know anything about cars?

.....and you may very well be correct in your view but it will still be more difficult for her to be taken seriously in the future, IMO.
i could not take her seriously even when she was riding high, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.
Now, it seems you CAN tell a book by its cover.

Love the way the charity came out earlier denying they were closing tonight and calling the speculation "dangerous".

And yet tonight, it's closing.

Can't believe a word it says, good riddance to it and the woman running it.

It's funny when people say they won't give to a charity because it is "too admin heavy". I think this is a classic case of a charity that was way too "admin light".

If it turns out Cameron played a part in making sure the £3m was paid last week, against the advice of Richard Heaton then it will be embarrassing for him.

If theyve taken this £3m donation knowing they were closing surely thats fraud? Perhaps the SFO should give Batman a good going over, who knows what they might find.

Did the government really pay £3 million in one instalment to KC? And then a decision was taken to spend £800k of this money on wages when the money was ring fenced for other things?

Could the £800k not have come from another pot of money?

I have been involved in 3rd sector organisations all of my working life and find all of this very bizarre. To pay out that much money from a pot that was meant for something else would have to be authorised at so many different levels and would end the careers of everyone involved. There's more going on here, I'm certain.

Just another example of political correctness winning over common sense. No one had the balls to state the obvious and confront the problems.

If you met Camila Batmanghelidjh, would you think she was a brilliant leader, or a fruitcake, sorry, a fruit salad?

What makes you say that Eric? From what I've seen they were as admin heavy as any other, but somewhat more incompetent not to say mismanaged.

It's starting to look like a game of brinkmanship where Batmanghelidjh is determined to go over the edge and cause as much trouble as she can in the process to draw attention to her cause.

I know the answer to this one but why do these people manage to hoodwink people for so long.

It was based on what the former Minister for Education was saying on Radio 4 news earlier today. The Department for Education used to have responsibility for overseeing this charity.

More or less what I said - that the organisation was poorly administered.
