I'm not sure what I did to deserve the full "force" of your trademark sneering condescension for merely posting an anecdotal counter to a made-up point. I'm also fairly interested in what evidence you would consider acceptable to establish the veracity of any potential tales of derring-do over a Lidl chiller order.

'Full force'?.sidicks said:
What proportion of Lidl's staff did you manage...??

That's up to you. I just pointed out that someone posting 'I worked for Lidl and my staff were very happy' is hardly conclusive evidence to refute the previous allegations!I was talking about the sly implication that I was making it up, that I was st at my job, and the bit about me being a ****. All very cleverly done without saying anything directly but clearly noticed by others as well as me. I understand that you don't like being challenged and you should note that my first post wasn't even to you, rather in response to something that continually annoys me in this place of people with actual knowledge being ignored and belittled for going against the flow (cf. the doctors contract thread for more examples). I assumed a real-world example would be appreciated as adding to the thread.

No such implication, but it's perfectly reasonable to challenge whether the impression of someone managing 3 stores is typical of the employees in the other 600 stores. The previous poster (that you challenged) referred to 'many' not 'most', not 'all', so you (aggressively) refuting his claim without evidence was worthy of challenge.

I said no such thing. But this applies universally - the best way of finding out how happy employees are is NOT to ask the person who manages them - had you referred to an internal (anonymous) survey that supports your experience then this would be relevant and useful. (But not necessarily indicative of other Lidl employees working with different managers in different locations etc.wolves_wanderer said:

Again (as explained) this was a tongue in cheek comment, following on from the previous post. For the avoidance of doubt, I don't really think that 'CorbynFTW' was really Lidl COO for 2 years either.Having never met you (or spoken to a manager in Lidl) and with no idea as to which Lidl store you worked in, I'm surprised you would take this as a personal comment!

The only other person who 'noticed' (and made the same interpretation as you) was someone who has an obsession with my posts and is constantly trying to misrepresent my position! I'm not sure he is a good example!wolves_wanderer said:

If you check the thread you will note that I also asked the person who made the original claim to evidence that claim. Given people's obvious desire for anonymity on here, it is difficult to differentiate 'real world example' from 'unsupported claim'. Surely you can see that? Plus, as above, your personal experience, while relevant, is not necessarily representative of the wider employee population.Edited by sidicks on Monday 28th September 11:18
Rinse and repeat... three 24hr strikes on the way.

A spokesman for the Rail, Maritime and Transport union said: 'RMT's executive will be taking a report from our London regional organiser on the total breakdown of negotiations over the linked issues of night Tube and pay at a meeting on Monday.
I'm sure we keep being told it's not about pay...

Great. I have to be in Central London on all those dates,
They are really pissing me off.
Pretty sure for all of those I'm going to be taking trainers and walk from Paddionton great. Odds on it will be raining or bitterly cold to boot. They are really pissing me off.
4.5 miles, circa 1.2 hours walk on top of my 2 hour train journey.
Can't cancel the meetings because the investors are flying in and its all arranged.

Stay in hotel and pre-book a taxi for the morning. If we let them disrupt us they've won . . .
It's not as if the whole of London will be trying to use the same roads to get anywhere!George111 said:
Maybe he'll get a hotel nearer the meeting then and walk, or perhaps hold the meeting at the Garden Inn at Heathrow, the point I was making is to not permit life to be disrupted by the cretins, or they win.
Agreed, but unfortunately the tube is an essential transport link in London so a tube strike inevitably affects a massive amount of people and significant disruption is unavoidable.George111 said:

Hotel near the office now sorted for the other dates, taxi's are useless on strike days. During the last one I walked from Bank to Euston quicker than the bus by some margin. I overtook al the traffic along Poultry

Do you have friends or family in Essex or Suffolk who you could stay with? Our trains finish at Liverpool Street, which is an easy walk away from the City.
