Don't get me going about the NCT-stasi. My sons are now about 30 and when SWMBO was pregnant we (well, she) joined the NCT and TBH they were on the whole good but I did manage to put my foot well and truly in it when we went to classes between having the two babies. The class leader asked me (as a 2nd time father) what essentials a bloke should take in to hospital, expecting me to say a dressing gown, toiletries etc. So when I said "a pocket full of change for the drinks machine, lots of food and a good book because you'll be there bloody ages" she went ape. I still don't know what was wrong with her as my wife had already packed everything that SHE needed.

to be fair NCT is a great thing if your a new Dad / Mum etc, highly recommend but the BF class and the birth class about pain relief are far from unbiased etc so do your own research and make up your own mind.

As for what to take with you, sounds about right to me a book a magazine (Ipad etc not a good idea with all the machines there, they get annoyed if u unplug them to charge stuff). Camera to capture how beautiful your wife or partner looks after 5 hours of agony drugs and screaming now exhausted with an alien trying to crawl over her....its magical. I also took tooth paste and toothbrush for me the wife was not feeling it on account of being spaced out on entinox.

but seriously NCT classes are great as long as you are able to think for yourself too. Which I am guessing the Primark women could not

My youngest was born on the day of the first F1 race of the 1999 season; before we set off to the hospital I set the race to record.

After my daughter was born I was dispatched home to get a few things, I was gone for 3 hours; I'd decided to watch the GP when I'd got home before returning to the hospital.

Do we think that is fair though? i think so, poor child won't be without a monther (no matter how stupid she is) and if she does something again, it's automatic jail time..

all well and good till you read it;s not the first time she has done it.

Kid would probably be better off adopted by somehow that cares.

Is that a cross between a mother and a monster? smile

Good choice of word in this case.

And the security guard who may have been gaoled, what about his children?

Send her down, no automatic get out if gaol card.
