It is - BUT, there may be some mitigation (nutty behaviour, post natal depression, etc.)and the CPS will probably knock it down to wasting police time or sumfink, give her a fixed penalty and send her on her way.

if she wasn't a mother I'd agree with you - however with my vaaaaast knowledge of the law (ie none!) I can't see anything other than a fine (which she'll not end up paying) and/or suspended sentence with no other sanction (community service etc)

Pretty sure this is a not-so-subtle ploy to make herself permanently unemployable by virtue of being known locally as a fruitloop, guaranteeing a lifetime on bennies.

I want to work but nobody will give me a job because of my pastrolleyes

Primark Breastfeeding Claim Woman In Court

"Ms Starmer was granted unconditional bail and ordered to appear before Leicester Crown Court on 22 September."

Anybody want to have a go at predicting the defence?

So she's been taken to court over it.

Good.

Quite agree. She'll be let off with slapped wrist though in view of her successfully increasing the UK birth rate, all by herself.

Maybe her defence barrister could claim she found the baby in the bushes just before she boarded the train I mean Primark branch and just felt compelled to err ....................................

I'm staking everything I own on 'depression' and 'ADHD' getting rolled out as the standard excuse

(for the easily-offended: I'm not down on those suffering from depression, quite the opposite, but there's an element of society that don't suffer from actual depression, but claim it as a carte blanche for downright bad behaviour. This woman will be one of them)

yup...

considering the costs to all of us for her 5 minutes of fame...

we really need a way of removing people like this from the gene pool.

Can not agree with breast feeding in public.

Can they not go to some change cubicle or some thing.

Rather not see any titties on show thanks.

This is obviously cobblers but on the general point- accepted that nursing mothers have the legal right to nurse. But seriously, the need? Are babies feeding times (to within an hour) completely unknown to the mother? My two children could be accurately predicted to need feeding within narrow time limits - have babies been GM'd? Plus, whatever happened to modesty, discretion and taste (no stupid puns please)? The best bit about this is that she fortunately can't hide behind the veil of anonymity like in so many other cases and thefore will be exposed and discredited so her antics can't be repeated.
Belated thought: babies cry for so many other things and are usually definitely not hungry. Perhaps changing a soiled nappy at the checkout might next be legal.

It's often in the toilets, would you like to eat your lunch while people are taking a dump all around you?
