OK, so apparently his cabinet are meeting at the Bolshevik Arms tonight, they've got a room out the back that seats 6. There is some food laid on but I got told to get there early before Diane arrives. wink

In all seriousness, the torries must be watching TV p*****g themselves laughing. Now should be the time Labour are taking the fight too them.
I disagree. Now is not the time for anything. Labour are out in the cold until the next election, nearly four years away. They need to get a new boss established and, if anything, this is a wee bit early.

Far from the tories having a laugh, they are the ones in trouble as they are the ones with a leadership battle on their hands, and the winner will lead them into the next election. If Gove or Johnson are picked and there are significant financial problems on leaving, they will be blamed, at least by anyone sensible and the labour PR machine.

Floating voters tend to move according to the financial situation at the time.

There are all sorts of things that could happen before the next GE, but one of them is not a stronger financial situation.

One interesting aspect is that Johnson is talking about continuing with free movement of people. I'm not sure that is what many exit voters anticipated. More to the point, is it what those in the remain organisation expected. Farage, I doubt it but he is of no consequence now. Gove - now that's an interesting one. He kept in the background to a great extent during the campaign, more or less just attaching himself to the sentiments rather than expressing his own. How will he feel about Johson's open door policy, which is how it will be described.

I think there might be interesting times in the tory party. Mind you, now is the time for their internecine battles, well before any election.

This made me chuckle

MPs are to hear a statement on the EU referendum outcome. Before that, it's defence questions, minus the newly-appointed shadow defence secretary, Clive Lewis, who is reported to be on his way back from Glastonbury.

So far in the Defence questions most of them seem to be from the SNP rather than Labour

There was some bumbling new appointee on the radio at lunchtime trying to paint as rosey a' picture as she could. Her main line seemed to be don't worry all of the vacancies are being filled so there will still be a shadow cabinet.

Well that's fine then. It might get down a to shadow cabinet made up of junior party activists and summer placement students at this rate, but it's fine so long as someone can be found to take the post.

At Parliment today Cameron was on Form.

Welcoming the new MP replacing Jo Cox, and then said she might want to make sure her phone is on as you might be getting a call to join the cabinet by the end of the day.... And I though I was having a bad day wink.
Literally the whole Parliment was laughing McDonnell etc all but 1 who looked like someone nearly shaking with rage.

Corbyns statement started to attack his own MPs and front bench for their behaviour -- total open warfare (the ear to ear grinning by the Torys was impossible to miss. Frankly in any other period Labour would be ko'ing the Torys instead they are utterly unchallenged. A shame as regardless of who is in power you want to see strong opposition not a laughing stock.

Surely he was welcoming the new MP replacing Sadiq Khan?

Dear Jeremy do you know the Public get to vote in the Government and not just Labour party members.
In 2015 9.3million people voted Labour and approx. 250,000 members voted for you. You are like some 1970's Labour tribute act Is anyone left on the front bench

The statement made by Corbyn was quite possibly the most arrogant, disrespectful, ego maniacal pieces of utter ste I have ever heard in my entire life. To associate his own professional problems with the horrendous murder of a perfectly innocent, decent person is off-the-scale arrogance. I mean WTF is this guy about? I don't claim to have the qualifications to make the following statement but; I think he's mentally ill. He seems to have a personality disorder of some sort.

How anyone can think that this guy is fit to lead anything at all is frightening, quite frankly. This man may end up with the power to start wars and have his finger on the nuclear trigger. The Labour Party needs to find a way to get rid of him ASAP.

Another 45 have resigned their posts.

Outside parliament there is a rally to "save Jeremy!!!!"

Can anyone go down and support them on my behalf? I'm sure someone will have a brazier burning. Maybe wear a donkey jacket. Cheer everytime someone toots their horn. That sort of thing

(maybe even start a tweet. That'll start something!)
