The surprise is that 500,000 specific people really strongly support him plus X amount more generally.
Am surprised at a few of my friends whom on the surface are well educated with good professional careers, and any minor criticism of the Messiah is met with the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and going la la la la la la la la la la la la like a small child. Its disconcerting and worrying.Vandenberg said:

He was in my town last night, and I hadn't a clue. It's a long term Tory seat. Just seen clips of it on the local news and it was a carnival atmosphere. Up on their feet clapping and hopping up and down. This is worrisome. I have to rub shoulders with these people...
The Winchester Branch of the Labour Party have come out in support of JC, according to the local rag. The Winchester Branch of the Labour Party FFS, I would imagine it has a similar number of members as the Winchester Branch Davidians.

35mn was the last voter turnout. Jeremy Corbyn and the current labour narrative is going to get how many out of that number? that is the test.
That's a difficult question to answer this far away from an election, an interesting one to find out will be how many of the old Labour faithful (I vote Labour because my Dad and his Dad before him voted Labour etc) stay true to his band of dingleberries.I find that I know a few people that support him and it has changed the way I see them. In my view supporting Corbyn is more about supporting your own personal myth rather than a real belief that he can govern the country better than alternatives. Frankly the belief that the British population is going to allow themselves to be governed by Corbyn,
McDonnell and the likes of Diane Abbot is inexplicable to me. The idea that the British electorate would send out the scruff Corbyn to represent and negotiate for us on the world stage is laughable. And why do they think that we are looking for radical left-wing solutions? I guess they only talk to fellow believers whereas Blair sought out those that disagreed and worked to get them alongside. The Labour party is probably doomed now to a long period in the shadows.
Corbynistas have this idea that they alone believe in social justice etc etc whereas I find that practically everyone supports the sentiments but most mature people realise that it's a very long road, a gradual process and that Capitalism is the most likely way of achieving those objectives even if a few do very much better than the majority in the process.

"Chairman of Winchester Labour, Richard James said: "It has been enormously encouraging to see so many local members and supporters engaging with this process to select the leader to take our party towards the next election. Tonight members addressed the meeting with thoughtfulness and passion, including young people attending their first ever political meeting. The Winchester Branch of the Labour Party FFS, I would imagine it has a similar number of members as the Winchester Branch Davidians.
"We now have over a 1,000 members in Winchester. At this rate we're going to need a bigger meeting room.""

Am not so sure these days, I live in a traditional labour safe seat full of people who would vote for a chimp wearing a red tie, as "thats what their parents and grandparents voted" I have spoken to a number of people who have advised that the Labour party no longer represents them and for the first time in generations are considering voting elsewhere, but as one said "I don't know which party to vote for any more they are all a shower of shiite"

I used to get a load of pro-Corbyn links popping up on my FB feed due to well-meaning leftie mates - stuff like "Jeremy Corbyn for PM" etc. They've gone very, very quiet and I don't recall seeing them for a while now.
One of the biggest lefties I know has about faced on his view - several months ago he was going on about the next election and was totally unable to see how disastrous the by-elections were and would harp on about how JC was such a great performer in PMQs and was "tearing Cameron a new one". He now thinks Corbyn has no leadership skills and should go. Cracking judgement, eh?
As an aside - has anyone seen stuff from that rabid loon "Another Angry Voice"? Complete cretin.

Oh dear, its time for a new new kind of politics I guess?
No wonder he appeals so much to the young, seeing him hunched on the floor like a stroppy sulking teenager, what a prawn and what a sad day for politics.

There is certainally an attitude of loyalty/blind devotion that would better suit football terraces than an objective discussion that seems to bypass the individuals education or inteligenceVandenberg said:

I've found it's not just sticking fingers in ears. It's genuine hostility and anger too. Disappointing and baffling in equal measure.Dog Star said:

That was never going to end well - it's hard to tear someone a new one when you patently can't tell your arse from your elbow.hornetrider said:

I really hope that isn't a euphemism for something.

One Labour source told the Guardian it was impossible to reach him for some time on Tuesday because he was "making jam."
.........................
However, a spokesperson for Mr Corbyn told the Telegraph: "As usual. wasn't hard getting hold of Jeremy. Not sure where this jam thing has come from but if he has made any then I want some."
What an utter fking shower!

He makes a fair point about the age of social media being more difficult to stage manage than Blair's era where papers were fed press releases by Big Bad Al.What he fails to acknowledge is the complete failure to manage the things within Corbyn's control, for example losing his rag at press conferences and interviews, being abrupt and rude with the press at his door, the "this week I've got a question from Mary" bks, finding a busy train to make a point about busy trains etc etc.
It's a complete and utter clusterfk of his own (and Milne's) making. What's incomprehensible is the attitude of the devout that it's OK for Corbs to score cheap political points when he's expressly condemned such actions, and moreover that billionaires like Branson are so scared of a Corbyn PM that they'll doctor CCTV footage to paint him in a bad light. As if it were needed.
Edit: I've just read a bit more of that site and I think I need to go and lie down. What a pompous .
