Just moving the discussion away from football attendance stats, Alzheimer's and the nations eating habits - just seen comrades emerging from the conference being asked questions by the BBC on the nuclear deterrent.

fking hilarious. Not one of them gave a proper answer. Every single one of them in weasel-word mode.

I'm getting worried Ainsley Harriott's going to last longer on Strictly than Corbyn will as Labour leader.

I thought this was quite an insightful article into where Corbyn may well fall down, if it happens:

Diane Abbot just on R4 being very evasive about the conflict between the Labour Party's collective decision making on having Trident and Corbyn's (as PM) absolute autonomy on whether to ever use it.

I don't see the relevance of the nuclear question tbh, I just asked my dog who looked at me a bit funny then licked his nuts. He is about as likely as Corbyn to be in a position to push the button! At least I know Alfie's response was honest and the idea his own not something re hashed to fit the audience!

He's like a daft angry grandad! I love how he's divided his cabinet already and yet keeps banging on about how he's furthering a 'debate'.

Yeah, a debate about how much of a deluded tt you are, Jezza.

A debate on the point of a deterrent you have told the world you will never use.

Hacked for not mentioning "Israel" at a Labour Friends of Israel meeting. Heckler slung out by the minders.

https://youtu.be/7XY_Xh83vDU

What a world-class statesman-in-waiting.

Reminds me of this:

Worth voting Labour just to get him in a meeting with Netanyahu and Trump!

I'd sell everything I own to be there.

I don't recall the latter happening to prior govts that have supported Trident as a final deterrent, Labour or Tory.

Oh come on MEC, you're just being contentious. Saying you would be prepared to use nukes is not saying you will start a war.

It's very simple: if the PM says he would never use nuclear weapons in any circumstances, then there is no deterrent, so we might as well not have them at all.

Corbyn leads one of the major parties and aspires to be PM. He leads a party that does not agree with his position on nuclear weapons.

Notwithstanding that, it is a mindlessly stupid elephant trap for him to have walked into.

If he can't see potential for such obvious unintended consequences then we'll all have to hope he never gets to be PM.

He is totally guileless, bordering on gormless. He's about to lose seven senior members of his cabinet and all he had to do was keep his trap shut, or at least equivocate. He'll have similar issues over the EU referendum if he lasts that long.
