The conceit is, of course, that other politicians must be all FOR war. With the exception of Tony Blair, most aren't.
I think any sane person would want to avoid War at all costs but there is a limit. At what point would he have involved this Country in WW2, as long as Germany didnt bomb us would he have avoided war. johnxjsc1985 said:

At what point would he have involved this Country in WW2, as long as Germany didnt bomb us would he have avoided war. Chamberlain was no pacifist (it was he who declared War). The causes of appeasement were many, and it is arguable that Chamberlain (who later served in the War Cabinet) bought the UK time to re arm. There are arguments the other way too. Some of the appeasers (including the owner of the Daily Mail, as poisonous then as it is now) were pro dictatorship and anti democracy. Some were traumatised by WW1. Some wrongly thought that the use of force to resolve disputes was outmoded.
BTW, to reinforce the obvious point that Corbyn is an idiot, Michael Foot, to whom Corbyn is compared (unfairly to Foot) was a staunch anti-appeaser, and wrote vigorous polemics against the appeasement party.

Tell that to CMD! Lord Dannant on Sky News recently was making pertinent points about priorities and the order of things.
Michael Foot was also a 'scallywag'. A person who had trained to be a guerilla fighter and continue to live off the land as a 'commando' type and harry any invaders. He was bad-ass.
There were plenty of establishment sorts who wanted peace with the NAZIs, even after the 'phoney war' ended. Other reasons other than appeasement.

You'll love this. Comrade Corbyn is "demanding" to know why Jihadi John was killed. You see, he wouldn't have ordered it.

A number of terriorists were summarily executed by the securtity forces in Northern Ireland, and even though some were on active duty, the legal ramifications are still ongoing and there have been numerous costly review and enquiries. Plus it hardened attitudes on the ground.
Would you cite the instances where it has been proven that this is the case? I am aware of no such incidences. A fair few where the army exchanged fire with the IRA and killed them, but no executions.hidetheelephants said:

Gibraltar (kinda counts doesn't it?)
how?3 IRA terrorists were shot whilst in Gibraltar planning attacks.
"enquiries resulting from keys found on Farrell led authorities to a second car, containing a large quantity of explosives, in a car park in Spain"
so, I guess the SAS were supposed to let them blow something up first were they?
Wonderful on Radio 4's Today just now, with Angela Eagle repeatedly refusing to say whether Jezza is fit for high office, and then they had a stellar performance from poor old Beaker...
Miliband: I’m not going to be a backstreet driver (of the Labour Party)
Jim Naughtie: Having crashed the car?
Miliband: Thanks!
