If you can prove that then all is OK.
It is the fraud that is the problem and I am sure that you agree that if the system is so lax to allow the type of actions Labour HAVE BEEN PROVEN to participate in, then you are being disenfranchised by that fraud itself and your postal vote is rendered pointless by that fraudulent activity.
If you take away my postal vote I can still vote by proxy. Just as open to abuse I would have thought. I think the idea of restricting postal votes to the disabled is ridiculous. It is the fraud that is the problem and I am sure that you agree that if the system is so lax to allow the type of actions Labour HAVE BEEN PROVEN to participate in, then you are being disenfranchised by that fraud itself and your postal vote is rendered pointless by that fraudulent activity.

Not a personal comment BTW!

So do I.however:
You have to prove who you are to use your bank account don't you ?....to get a passport, a drivers licence, travel to France etc etc
Voting is the most important thing you can do in a democracy, it needs some level of protection, at the moment it does not have any of worth as has been seen by the many cases of abuse by the Labour Party.
Hey, even Assad in Syria has a blue finger after he voted.

How do you suggest that I vote then, given that I cannot get to a polling station for work reasons?
I'm sure a combination of friends, the local Parties, employers and sheer determination will get people to vote. This is the problem nowadays in many similar situations, where people are asked to do something they 'put' themselves in an 'impossible' situation to not comply or prove a point.
I'm sure chap if you had to get to a polling station you could, if not then see above...

Personally I think there should be a provision for the able bodied to vote at in a secure room at a council office where they can do it in private, alone and after proving their identity.
This could be open 2 weeks before the election to allow for all options you may have to work around.
A vote in the UK is worth the effort is it not ?

My job has me on the road for days at a time. If there is an election, I am working away, I miss out. Hence the postal vote.

I have a postal vote as I cannot get to the polling station whilst it is open. I think that is fair enough.
I'd prefer to have polling stations longer for the tiny minority of people who 'can't get to' a polling station between 7am and 10pm on one day every five years.Postal voting unnecessarily opens the process to abuse.

Postal voting should be banned outright. Wide open for abuse.
The overseas, hospitalised and severely disabled only. The rest can walk their sorry arses down the road and be counted in and out the same as everyone else.
More bks to thank Blair for.
It's 2015 however. There is no reason for most of us to visit a place and vote. I appreciate additional security measures may be required to verify voters but time moves on.The overseas, hospitalised and severely disabled only. If it could be shown to work. I also believe in compulsory voting. That would be interesting.
On the flip side here, I get lots of mail, personally signed (wow!) by the local candidates asking for my X in the right place on my postal vote.
