He has an unexpected opportunity.
Boris crowned leader to deliver the land of milk & honey. Election called soon after to mandate the policies when they dream them up.

Jeremy offers a referendum on the new EU offer that will come as part of Labour manifesto.

Labour then gain support from their usual supporters + remainders & storm to election win.

This time next year, we're in EU with a labour PM

Off to the bookies now !

Traditional Labour voters aren't voting Labour any more, though...

Problem is the result went the way the core Labour voters wanted, he's only of favour with the Labour party elite.

At least Corbyn will go at some point before too long. Even so, the more traditional Labour supporters really do need to improve how they get their message across to the electorate - and who should then lead the party ?
Corbyn as a leader of the opposition is good for the Tories. The only danger is that the Tories will become SO unpopular that Labour might win a GE with Corbyn in the chair.

Well they have been looking for an excuse to ditch Jezza and this is obviously it. Very ironic that the PLP want to ditch him for basically not being Europhile enough...... yet he made it clear he was Eurosceptic during his leadership campaign and only sold out during the referendum due to PLP pressure. If he had stuck to voting out (and I suspect he actually did in private) he would have won back quite a lot of labour support in the north and midlands.

Vote of no confidence next Tuesday... dead man walking.

Thank God... he's a weak, cowardly politician. Completely invisible during one of the biggest political events of his own life time.

ugh.... really if the PLP stitch up a Labour leadership contest and elect someone like him or Angela Eagle they might as well just disband the party now.

Gisela Stuart might be a reasonable choice, at least she should seriously consider standing.

This is a pretty discgraceful bit of opportunism by the parliamentary party. The real issue for labour is that they took a stance that went against that of lots of their supporters in their Northern heartlands. Just like Scottish labour did when they vehemently opposed independence. To blame him for that is just disingenuous.

If he is replaced, it will no doubt be by a 'remain' advocate who will have even less credibility with the voter base in the North of England. But hey, Bliars progenies will be back in control.
